counselling

I know of things like group music therapy for example, but when it comes to one to one counselling, it seems there isn't much information online.

New GP, new hope!

New surgery - referring to heptology, rheumatology, counselling and physio! Redoing stool samples, and bloods, probable endoscopy. But, I do feel I have been listened to - finally!

Bereavement counselling

I had my first Counselling session on Friday. I had to go back to the Hospice, where my husband died, for this as it is provided by them. My problem is , and I'm hoping someone will be able to help me, I've felt absolutely dreadful since this session.

Asking for help is Okay

In fact, even if you find that counselling is not necessary, support from family and friends is an essential component of dealing with grief. If you do feel that grief counselling would be beneficial, begin by talking to your primary health provider.

Mental health

I was a counsellor for over 20 years and a counselling supervisor. Working one to one, facilitating group counselling and providing groups on stress, relaxation, meditation etc. I have a couple of friends who have worked in the same field so if and when I need the support I have it.

I'm about to have a second series of counselling, just wondered what anyone else has tried?

Has anyone here has used the Changing Faces Counselling Service or Helpline, and if so how did you find it, was it helpful?

Feeling sad

I am awaiting counselling but honestly feel I wish I had died and not recovered. Pushing everyone away and wondering if I will ever feel like the old me before all this happened.

Counselling

👋🏼 I just had my first counselling session via zoom this morning . I wasn’t that impressed tbh. Felt like there were a lot of awkward silences and that the counsellor was constantly looking at the time at the bottom of her screen.

Anxiety

I am on mertazipine and have had some counselling trying some of their suggestions. Don't know what else to do. Anxiety has been brought on by worrying about my son who is going to lose his job. I know this is a trivial reason compared to other people's problems.

Psychiatrist help

I’ve tried counselling, meditation, mindfulness, cbt therapy many many times but there has been no change. I’ve come to the end of my tether now. How do I go about getting help from an NHS psychiatrist? ( I can’t afford private ).
