It’s been 14mths since we found out my husband has azoospermia. The process to try and find the cause through the nhs has been excruciating slow and incompetent. We are still no closer to having any answers and it is likely to remain that way.
We now have another long wait for sperm extraction before we can start fertility treatment.
Through all of this, Ive found the long waits between appointments the hardest. It’s difficult sitting with your thoughts with no progress being made, so many unknowns and no clear plan ahead.
I have reached out to our fertility clinic to ask about support, but they only offer counselling sessions if you are actively going through a cycle. There are support groups, which I am open to try, but in addition to personal sessions.
It seems a gap in the process where there is limited support available for this 2yr period before starting treatment. But I think this can be equally, if not more challenging than treatment itself.
Does anyone have any good advice for long wait times for results or appointments? What can be done to improve support during this time?
