Ive had some experience with NHS counselling which I went to a good few years back.
I've been trying to grapple with a serious NHS complaint involving a death, which was getting nowhere due to NHS defensive attitude with regard to their negligent mistakes, coupled with the collusive and opaque manner of the so-called health service ombudsman PHSO using all sorts of tricks, smokescreens and a totally unfit process designed to cover up lies and mistaes and eventually close you off in a further abusive system.
Being referred to CBT and 'Counselling' proved pojntless, as long as the original problem causing the trouble remained and the trauma arising just from that. Any positive value in outcome was still being rejected by corrupt government services - a bit like the Uk Post Office scandal if you get my gist... 'our system is always right, so you must be lying' etc. etc.
As a result I survive on medication, plus much more relevant private therapies, 'natural' or otherwise, to be found outside the UK, which tackle 'mind altering' methods challenge your beliefs of life and expectations in an holistic way.
(Please, please dont respond to me because I'm not able to name names in services which have failed and those towards which I feel eternal gratitude, and I have to try and avoid all triggers affecting my experiences.)
