Arthritis not imbruvica
I have had knee problems for quite sometime now. Last year I had a shot of cortisone which really helped when I developed a baker's cyst. Since my ankles also ache and crack, I have just blamed the imbruvica which I have been on for 25 months (and doing fantastically). Yesterday I returned to my orthopedic

Hi I have been a member of HealthUnlocked for several years, but this was for my Husband's Bladder Cancer and I can't stress enough how helpful everyone's comments were for him. Now however I need support or advice for myself. I have had arthritis for many years now but my shoulder pain is something

Not Addisons, so now what?
Following 6 weeks of very low BP, daily fainting, couldn't drive, hair falling out, depression, lost a stone and a half, couldn't eat, vomiting etc I finally got to an endocrine clinic on 31st March, where I passed out - I was given a short synacthen test immediately and told to take Hydrocortisone 3

should cortisone always be combined with DHEA?
The Hertoghe doctors say you need to take DHEA with hydrocortisone or Medrol (unless you also suffer from PCOS). The reason is that DHEA will prevent cortisone from "eating up" too much tissue. Therefore, you are handed a prescription for DHEA along with your prescription for cortisone. Last year, my

Improved Balance
Matt2584 wrote a post "Walking Stick" that got a lot of comments from people with poor balance. OT: Tiny itchy bumps
I have done nothing different that I can think of except took a taxi to the airport and flew long haul, wore a shirt that has been in the drawer for a long time (but haven't changed washing liquid in ages). When I arrived I was itchy and had about half a dozen tiny blistery bumps scattered on my torso

Beetroot face!
Hi Guys, I had 2 jabs of anaesthetic and 2 of cortisone into my shoulder yesterday and I just wonder if my lovely "beetroot" face, which I get now as a reaction after the jabs is experienced by anyone else. I just wonder if having PV has aided this reaction as I have had a temperature before post jabs

Arthritis and inflammation have come back low so I found Pseudogout and wonder if this could explain my joint swelling and pain? I'm not on any treatment and they won't let

Getting cortisone shot
Hi I need to get a cortisone shot in my hip for mild bursitis. Do you know if that would be bad for my heart and AF? My EP said it was ok when I got one in my knee two weeks ago but I am having my first ablation in 9 days. Thanks

No increase in FT4 with either Levo or NDT. Second miscarriage- ? connection
I wonder if anyone can help me. I have just had my second miscarriage at 11 weeks pregnant. The first one was at 9 weeks, which I attributed to my thyroid as my TSH was 3.12 at 6 weeks gestation. I started Levo, but I think this was too late as this was only started at 7 weeks gestation. After the miscarriage

Shoulder pain - what's going on?
So . . . . . I am in agony with my left shoulder! On slow release morphine topping up with liquid morphine, luckily it doesn't make me drowsy so am managing to function. X-ray results came back showing wear and tear at the end of both right and left clavicles and in the ball/socket joint on left. This
