Hydrocortisone and DSNS
Hi - I was just wondering if there wasn't a possibility that one could transition yo hydro cortisone. I understand it's 'safer' (less side effects) cortisone - but is it still as effective. I am trying to taper my Pred from 11 to 10 at present - but struggling. No full blown pain but reall heaviness

Methotrexate- a better option than Azathioprine? What other options are they with less harm for lupus people?
Hi, I'm new here and I suffer from Sjögrens syndrome and lupus, and I've been taking 200 mg Hydroxychloroquine since a couple of years back. Moreover, I've been taking 150 mg Azathioprine the latest months, which lowered my white blood cells extremely. The Numbers were so low that the doctors had to

Must treat the cause, not the symptom.
I believe it is time that the medical profession start looking to treat the cause of Psoriasis and not just to treat the symptom. My wife has be plagued with Psoriasis for some years now. Cream after cream, cortisone injection etc etc and it is just getting worse. Now booked an appointment with a

Hello, I have good news. My pain has diminished since last week. I went to a consultant at Bupa Health Centre in the City and he pressed on my spine when he visited me. He diagnosed pinched inflamed nerve and told me to take diclofenac instead of other pain killers. He wanted to do the caudal epidural

I'm sure you already have a handle on site reactions, but thought I'd share what has worked best for me during the 4 months of trial and error. I follow the protocol for 5 minutes of heat to the injection site before injecting, followed immediately with about 1-2 minutes of cold pack application. Instead

Cortisone injection
Hi Can anyone tell me if Gp prescribe cortidone injections to have done on your gluteus by a nurse either at the surgery or at home? In Europe they do. You have a course of cortisone and a nurse of your choice, which you pay, comes to your home and do them. Not necessarily they need to be epidurals.

Acute knee pain
Good Morning, Three years in and down to 5mg normally I have very little pain. Last week I went to the UK from France, to visit my son and family. I took things quietly and don't believe I overstretched myself. Towards the end of the week my right knee swelled up and the pain was pretty bad. Walking

Severe pain mid and upper back
I have PMR/GCA. I am currently taking 16mg of Prednisone. For the past 9 months, I have experienced sciatica which was helped by an epidural several months ago. I have also had severe burning pain in my mid and upper back. I have been trying Tramadol and Baclofen or Norco if pain is not helped with Tramadol

Epidural steroid injections or normal steroid injections?
Hi I have read some inputs from people having the above. For some it worked for others they got more problems and I am scared also because I suffered from extra vasation of contrast six years ago which triggered lots of health problems and cancer. I don't want to get another medical mishap. The triage

Rhuemy says my blood markers are normal and should dismiss me but is trying something new. Antimalaria drug?
I am in the US and referred myself to a rhuemy as I felt my steroid dose could be better managed by him than my gp. My gp diagnosed me with classic hip and thigh symptoms of stiffness and pain that was a level 4 to 6 and just wouldn't go away. My sed rate at that time was 30 and I don't remember the
