I’m on waiting list for transplant but right now I’m doing PD dialysis. That is going well. As routine as it is to do it 5 days out of 7 and at night while sleeping is so good. But a transplant would be wonders! So I am going through the evaluation process right now and my sister has volunteered and

Post Transplant Side Effects
I'm 28 years old and will start my first dialysis session tomorrow and going to transplant evaluation next week. After a lot of reading in NKF and some papers, I realize dialysis is much safer and have less serious side effects compared to transplant though I know it's inconvenient. I'd like to know

I have been on dialysis for past 4 months. Why am I getting too much giddiness and leg tingling?
At the initial stage of dialysis I am okay but after a month of dialysis I am getting giddiness and leg tingling. I am imbalance now. Can't walk without someone else support. Please advise what should I do. Regards.

Fistula problems
Second week of using fistula. A tech infiltrated it, could not use for two weeks. Tried to use it again and did not work. Was told may have to use heparin prior to run. I know is not a drug to fool around with. Any side effects to using with dialysis? My blood was very colored and clotted in tubing.

My sister (Age-23) suffering from CKD since December'17. In the beginning when her creatnine level is 8 that time we were not very much aware about her condition and thinking that Homeopathy or Ayurvedic medicine can treat the disease and got the Cretanine level down but it's not happened and creatnine

Protein in urine
Looking for kidney health advise. Praying that this protein in my urine is not a sign of dialysis’s. These dialysis centers are everywhere in my neighborhood.

CPAP Trial - one week in
It’s interesting that there has been a lot of discussion here lately around sleep apnea. I’m one quarter of the way through my 4 week CPAP trial. Being claustrophobic I’m struggling but getting used to it. I’m determined to complete the trial and see if it helps my heart. This is the mask so it’s the

SLEEP APNOEA
Be careful with seeking a sleep apnoea diagnosis because if toggled with daytime sleepiness it could mean loss of your drivers license as you have to inform DVLA and they have the right to withdraw your license. You will be given a CPAP machine to use and providing you use it 80% of your sleeping hours

Body Vibrations Night Terrors
Finally .. it seems I'm not the only one. For the last three years i have suffered and endured the many sleepless nights with this body vibration. It all seemed to start with what I now know to be RLS ... restless leg syndrome. This then progressed to my whole body. No one can see this except

GFR of 5 To start dialysis or not
Just got my labs, Potassium 5.7, BUN 90, Creatinine 10.3.GFR 5. Last week I had surgery to put a PD catheter in place for use if needed. Post surgery I was constipated from the pain meds and had difficulty urinating, due to the Foley catheter. Other than getting tired easy from physical exertion

Taking some time.
Hey all, I feel really connected to this community- it's given me an outlet for information and invaluable support throughout my time on dialysis, and now post transplant. There are some things that I'm just now realizing that I was told at the hospital, such as drains are horrible and always leak, the

Pramipexole side effects
I've been on 2 x 0.88 Pramipexole for 6 months having spent all my adult life (I'm now almost 60) feeling tired during the day and very gradually getting RLS. I use a CPAP machine for central apnoeas, and then a sleep study showed that RLS/periodic limb movement was repeatedly waking me in the night.

CKD Stage 4 EGFR 18
Hi Everyone, I just got my lab results and now my EGFR is down to 18. I will only see my nephrologist in April and unfortunately he is not really helpful in answering my questions. I was wondering if someone out there could shed some light to me. Basically I don’t have any living donor so I would like
