Hello! My name is Holly, and I’m 4 months post transplant. I’m feeling more energetic and stronger, but my hair is coming out fast. I just ordered a wig, but I’m not sure I’ll ever wear it. I also have kidney failure and do dialysis . They’re trying to get me to move my catheter from my chest to my stomach

Help with my full CPAP mask please.
Sorry this is a long 1st post. Sleep Apnoea I have been using a CPAP Resmed AirSense 10 Series machine for 3 + years, started on a nose mask . Took to it like a duck to water and was so pleased to finally be sleeping well. It has always been a positive thing for me. About 2 years ago I began to

LSD acid on Dialysis
My teen is ESRD and has been for two years. He has also struggled with Leukemia, and anxiety/depression. He has a friend that's telling him to use LSD! He's been doing research online and he's convinced he wants to try it... I'm worried sick. I've seen online that acid is metabolized in the liver, so

Diet changes, it is complicated
I had a slip in my GFR in November. I had an gastritis this fall and although I did not take anything, it may have impacted me. I also had fallen away from my diet as we sometimes do in time. I thought it was appropriate for a tune up. I went to see the renal dietician I saw 3 years ago. She is an expert

A long-awaited letter
In 2015 I gave a talk to a TUK forum on the poor quality control and performance of free T4 and free T3 assays then used. The situation hasn't changed in the meantime, but I got a letter accepted in a journal on this very subject: It will appear very soon but since it will be behind a paywall I'm giving

Never give up hope
So after 8weeks on a ventilator my amazing dad has been on a step down ward for the past 5 days . It all happened so fast. I was allowed to visit last week on ICU for the first time since he was admitted. It was emotional and exciting he had lost lots of weight. He came off the cpap and a day later they

Living donors
For those of you who have gotten a living donor, how did you start the conversation? I am struggling with sharing my need, and my more immediate family has not been very receptive to the thought of donating. I am not currently on dialysis, but that is probably only a few months away. Thanks, Paul

Peripheral Neuropathy in feet
Hi everyone. I have painful , numb feet due to PN for about a year. Did not improve during dialysis and now that I recently had a kidney transplant I am hoping there may be some change? Treating it with pregabalin for the pain. Has anybody else had the same and found any improvement?

1st night CPAP... dismal failure!
Tried my best but couldn’t quite get the mask to fit as snug as the nurse yesterday. Couldn’t stop the air blowing onto my right eye and if i tightened it up it felt too restricting. Managed an hour which i suppose is a start and will experiment later. Meanwhile off to Emsworth to feed the Gulls with
