Tried my best but couldn’t quite get the mask to fit as snug as the nurse yesterday.
Couldn’t stop the air blowing onto my right eye and if i tightened it up it felt too restricting.
Managed an hour which i suppose is a start and will experiment later.
Meanwhile off to Emsworth to feed the Gulls with Mrs B’s leftover chips as the buggers aren’t getting mine.

Hi you can ask for the nasal bridge pad if your mask is slipping down your nose causing leakage, other tip is when you put on your mask sit for 10 mins then lie down, I’m a very restless sleeper started bi-pap mid January I use a mask which has a soft foam outer shell extremely comfortable no leaks, I wish you well for tonight.
Hi vwtopaz, yes that’s very good advice, it looks like you’re using the ResMed AirTouch F20 mask, which is the same as the mask I use, but yours has the memory foam cushion, I can’t really use them because the pressure my BiPAP is on is too high to seal properly unfortunately.

Hi Mrbojangles, what type of mask are you wearing Full Face (covers nose and mouth) Nasal (covers just your nose) or Nasal Pillows (pillows go in each nostril)? I use a ResMed AirFit F20 Full Face mask.
The best way to use it is, just before you get into bed put your mask on adjusting it for basic fit, then turn your CPAP on and if it’s blowing into your eyes or leaking adjust your mask straps accordingly, then when it feels comfortable and the CPAP is up to full pressure try lying in bed in the position you normally sleep in making any slight adjustments to the mask you might need to.
If you don’t want try all this adjustment before going to bed, try doing it in the afternoon and lie down on your bed for a few minutes in your sleeping position with CPAP switched on, once you get the mask fitting properly you should just be able to remove it and when you use it again at bedtime, you should just be able to put back on and switch your CPAP on and get off to sleep.

Great advice Ian thanks..Nose and mouth mask with a Philips Dreamstation machine.
It does get better with time. Just keep wriggling it around. Hubby has got used to the noises we try and move it around tighten up a little bit. Promise with practice it does get better. Even the cat sleeps with now. The 😜

Stick with it. When I first got mine I didn’t think I would ever get used to it. I started wearing it in the day time for 15 minutes, then 30 etc but really struggled. I did eventually go through one whole night and now sleep so much better than I ever used to. My husband still gives me nudges every now and then thro the night, when I start making noises but I can usually manage to adjust where the mask sits until all is well again. Stick with it - you will get used to it .
