COLONOSCOPY
Gooday, I have been short listed for a
colonoscopy
to exclude bowel cancer. The first step is to speak with the surgical consultant. I believe a local anesthetic may be administered. Currently I am on a low dose of Ibrutinib.

Scared and lost
He did a
colonoscopy
and an endoscopy to rule out anything else. There was a polyp in my colon which he removed. He ordered an ELF test which was 9.16. He said that was not high but I know it is not low either! I did the test after having Covid but I can’t see that having an impact.

peptic ulcers?
Some research I found the duodenal ulcer is part of the peptic ulcer family, also that these ulcers are hereditary, I still have my
colonoscopy
this weekend but would appreciate if anyone has any experience with these types of ulcers themselves?

Advice please
I was told I would have a further
colonoscopy
in 5 years, that was due in July this year. I have now been informed that due to a change in NICE guidance I no longer require a
colonoscopy
. I have read the NICE guidance and I believe I still require a
colonoscopy
.

Could I have endometriosis?
I even had a
colonoscopy
where they did find and remove a small polyp, but results from that are normal and I have had rectal bleeding since it was removed. I was at the nurse just today as I feel like I have a UTI, peeing a lot and back pain/lower ab pain but all was clear.

Octasa / Mesalazine - Should I be seeing more of a change?
Had
colonoscopy
and relevant tests and doctor says that I likely have crohns and is treating me as such. I had steroids for 3 months which generally helped (though my calprotectin was higher after the course) and I started Octasa 800mg (6 a day) about 2 months ago.

Colonoscopy prep and low weight - anyone?
Hello folks, So I’m going to be having a
colonoscopy
at some point soon (still on waiting list) because of an enlarged liver, high calprotectin and IBD symptoms. I am extremely underweight at 43kg (I’m 5’4”) and extremely nervous about doing the prep for the procedure.

non responsive or refactory coeliac’s disease
Had a
colonoscopy
which came back inconclusive and was due to have other tests start but suffered multiple unprovoked pulmonary embolisms in both lungs- it’s taken about 18 months to recover from that and have tests start back up again as symptoms have gotten much worse - I get cramp pains in my stomach

Any advice for gastro symptoms which respond to steroids, but no diagnosis? Does normal colonoscopy cover the small bowel?
My main question (apart from if any insights anyone might have) is – do people know if the small bowel is inspected during a normal
colonoscopy
? Is there any point in my going back and asking for a capsule endoscopy to inspect it in the vague hope there might some answer there?

I am currently waiting for a
colonoscopy
as the last test. I am now on a gluten free diet as I did a York test and it showed I was allergic to wheat and some meats.. At the moment I eat gluten free cornflakes with oat milk or rice milk and a banana.

Constant lower Back/Left Bum cheek pain
I've had tailbone mri, xray, steroid injections,
colonoscopy
in case it was something else. Nothing else showed up. I also have constant pelvic pain but I've learn to tolerate that. But I can't deal with the lower back/bum pain. Is there anything that has helped any of you to remove this pain?

Desperate need for help and advice
I’ve experienced a number of different symptoms over the past 2 and a half years which has resulted in me having a
colonoscopy
, CT, MRI, Ultrasound and numerous blood tests. All thankfully have come back positive but I’ve really struggled during this time.

Post Colonoscopy Bowel Movement
Lots of scans do not show any problems and the
colonoscopy
only revealed 2 polyps 6mm in size , removed for the normal checks otherwise a clear bowel. I am concerned about post
colonoscopy
bowel movements and would be interested in the experience of fellow community members . Thank you
