I have been short listed for a colonoscopy to exclude bowel cancer. The first step is to speak with the surgical consultant. I believe a local anesthetic may be administered. Currently I am on a low dose of Ibrutinib. What are other peoples experience regarding the stopping and starting of Ibrutinib for this procedure.
Cheers

I had two such investigations while taking IBRUTINIB, neither time was I instructed to stop taking it. Neither time did I have local anesthetic because it would have extended my time in outpatients by 2-3 hours, during both procedures I experienced only very mild discomfort.
I've had 2 colonoscopies while on different BTK inhibitors. My CLL expert and the gastroenterologists advised that I could have the colonoscopy without pausing ibrutinib or acalabrutinib, but if polyps were found- they could not remove them due to bleeding risk.

So to avoid having to have 2 cleanout procedures in the same year, I opted to pause BTKis for both procedures, and the first one had no polyps, but the second found 2, that were "zapped" off immediately.
do they do biopsy on your polyps? I had done my colonoscopy yesterday and found 3 polyps, 1 which is a 1.5cm one and so it is going for biopsy and I’m worried
