Is it ok to not want to be ok ?
Hi, I’m new. 13 years ago, I was so far down the rabbit hole of PTSD and severe chronic anxiety that I could barely function. I lived in my basement because I was so afraid of people. The phone. So many things. My panic attacks were severe. As in shaking like I had palsy curling up on the floor and

A holistic approach finally helped me with my depression and energy levels
Hi everyone, My name is Christina. I have been suffering from depression and anxiety on and off since my mid twenties. I had four burnouts within the last 10 years, each time took me at least a good year to get my energy levels back up. I think the worst is my inner critic and my inner perfectionism

Help with Lower Scrotum and Perineum Pain
Hi All, I wanted to document my experience in hopes of getting good insights and helping others with similar pathology. That is, throbbing pain and tightness in the lower scrotum, behind scrotum and perineum area. 3-4 weeks prior to 4/5/2020, I started feeling tightness around my scrotum area. I ignored

My dad is being discharged home today!
He spent 12 days on a ventilator and an additional 19 days in ICU and step down ICU. Then he was in rehab for 34 days getting Physical, Occupational and Speech / Cognitive Therapy. I’m a little nervous to see him again in person. For more than 2 months I’ve only been able to talk to my dad a few times

My Diagnosis
For the past 5 to 6 years I thought I had moderate depression. So I recently met with a psychiatrist and i told her that I thought I had depression and by the end of our conversation she diagnosed me as having an adjustment disorder. Now I’m not quite sure if this is a diagnosis that is set in stone

How to do exposures for indecision?
My 12 year old daughter has OCD, which was diagnosed when she was 7. She has done cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), on and off, for the last 5 years. She also takes Zoloft which helps decrease her anxiety so she can access treatment and do exposures. She has had a ton of success doing exposures for

Health Anxiety is a real thing and I think I have it... it's exhausting... and I hate it...
Up until now, I had no idea that Health Anxiety even existed... I knew most of my Anxiety/obsessive thoughts stemmed from health related things but I'm only diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety. After reading others' experiences and symptoms, I most definitely, 200%, have Health Anxiety specifically. Constantly

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Does anybody have successful experiences or tactics regarding cognitive behavioral therapy. I've been struggling with my ADHD for a while now, and it only hurts my wife. Then when she comes down on me for my stupid ADHD mistakes, I defend myself impulsively and erratically and it only makes things much

Hey everyone, I've had a fairly recent diagnosis of PTSD and I was going through cognitive behavioural therapy. I noticed that this completely changed my behaviour and my feelings towards my direct family members. I absolutely cannot face going through this kind of therapy again, I know it makes

Anxiety Management tips during COVID
I found this excellent set of skill tips out of Canada today for improving anxiety management. I'm using some of them myself, and will likely add in others intentionally. They are based on evidence-based mental health practices from cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. Many are also applicable
