What happens when Adrenal Gland starts working
I am back down to, and hovering, at 6.5mg Prednisolone, over the past few days have developed a nasty niggling pain deep in the left side of my neck and shoulder. This pain is the same pain I hade when first diagnosed with PMR and is in one of the original places. My question is;- if PMR was caused

Sharp pains in head - lupus related or something else?
Hi all, I have general nerve pain in my head ever since I had concussion and whiplash seven years ago - so I'll get fibromyalgia shoulders and pains travelling up my scalp, particularly the right side. It's not that troublesome. But since I had my Covid jab three weeks ago I've had a few episodes

Palpitations
Hi all. Just had a horrible weekend , fast irregular heart rate, lasted over 1 hour . Of course it had stopped by the time I was monitored, so they didn't really have any record . Spent 2 nights in EAU wired up , lots of ecgs bloods etc. They reassured me it wasn't a heart attack . The flutters continued

The plexopathy continues
After speaking to the consultant again he is saying to maintain long term on a low dose of Prednisolone. I'm back I agony so I have to do something. The Gabapentin isn't helping in the slightest so I'm coming off it slowly. I asked if there was an alternative to the Prednisolone and he mentioned methotrexate

skin tears
I have vasculitis, MPA, microscopic Polyangiitis, and have been on prednisone for 3 years. Currently I am on 2.5 mg. Recently I developed several skin tears on my legs. Saw my rheumatologist yesterday and he told me to stop the prednisone. Suggestions please…can I just stop the 2.5 or should I taper

Biotin interference with Thyroid bloodwork
I am due for follow up blood work and just remembered that biotin interferes with the test results. How far in advance must I quit taking my B complex which has 100% daily requirement of Biotin? My last TSH a few months ago was .03, super low for me. I usually run between 1.5 and 2. But my FT4 was

Pneumonia vaccination
Hi all. I have recently returned to Spain for the foreseeable future and managed to get my covid vaccination shortly after my arrival a few weeks ago. I had my flu vaccination in the UK just before we came out. I have to say that I have responded well to both vaccinations with no adverse side effects

Hi, this is my first post so hope you all bear with me! t3 only treatment need advice
When i got hypo i figured out fast that t4 only only worsend everything. My doc added 10 t3 it was better but not optimal. She put me on 4 Grain NDT and i did well for 2 years. Then got one symptom and we played with NDT dosages lower, higher, brands and a combo with NDT plus 10 T3... I transitioned

What exclusionary tests should I ask my doctor for? IL-6 inflammation tests? + other random PMR questions
I'm a 44-year old woman fairly confident I have PMR due to the symptoms I've experienced & the dramatic success of prednisone in treating them. (I put a longer backstory in my profile - which I'm assuming you can access.) I worry somewhat about GCA involvement because when my symptoms have been strong

Has anyone had a side effect when taking Xtandi. An allergic reaction of full body itchy burning unbearable rash after taking it a week. Took Abiraterone for 4 years with no side effects. PSA started to rise so was switched to Xtandi. They took me off the drug but the rash is horrible. taking prednisone

5mg reduction in prednisone a day!
Recently I had another GCA scare and the doctor raised my pred from 5mg a day to 30mg. - however, when the scare was over I was told to come down 5mg a day. 30 - 25 - 20 - 15 etc. I felt dreadful. Has anyone else come down so sharply - my entire system is still going through it - even though I’

Tooth pulled, then dizzy
After a molar tooth was pulled I started getting headaches and two weeks plus I still have them. And now I am dizzy. I am six years into PMR on 6 mg per day of prednisone and doing fine until the tooth was pulled. Question: has anyone else had an episode like this? Thank you for your thoughts.

Concern about having more radiation to prostate after 43 external beam treatments 15 years ago
15 years ago my husband had 43 radiation treatments after PSA reached 50 & his 3rd biopsy showed 1 core to have cancer., Gleason was 3-3. He has had Lupron injections since then. He was on 250mg of Zytiga with food and 5 mg Prednisone for 3 years until a year ago because PSA was creeping up & he was

It'll be fine
I had my six month checkups and sometimes had to be numbed for a crown repair etc. There was never a problem. An extraction goes pretty quickly. It'll be over in minutes. You'll be fine. I assume your dentist knows you are taking prednisone so don't give it a thought.Good luck.
