Immunology - prednsione, tacrolimus, intralpids.. what else? :)
Hey ladies! I am currently preparing for my next transfer, which will happen in January. I have some immune issues, such as Hashimoto`s, overactive NK cells in the endometrium sample and KIR AB. For the transfer I am taking prednisone and tacrolimus, plus intralipids. Should I be checking this area

GCA flare
Diagnosed April 2018 with PMR. Three months later GCA. I am currently on 3mgs prednisolone. Over the last two days have scalp pain on right side only … no jaw pain. It feels a bit like I am getting a cold sore but no cold sore showing up. Could it be a GCA flare? Thank you to everyone who replies.

Visit to endocrinologist and Prednisone at wee hours.
I visit my, very helpful, endocrinologist every three months. Yesterday we were discussing my medication and I was telling her that I was taking prednisone at around 2-4 am in the morning -when I got up . She asked me why take it at night? Well, I had a garbled expression as to how we think about

terrible metalic taste in my mouth ALL the time!
I’m now into my second year of PMR, I’m on 5mgs of Prednisone and 20mgs of somac a day, 50mgs of Endep at night. I don’t think I have changed anything in my diet etc but I have a terrible metallic taste in my mouth constantly, nothing cuts through it, I’ve tried biting a lime and nothing, whatever

Progress report
Oh what a fun week I have had. Those of you that followed the tooth saga will be pleased to hear I am nearly at the finishing line and had the fitting for the implant, another 2 weeks and I will have the new tooth. It wasn’t particularly pleasant but it’s done. My next exiting trip was to have a scan

rubbery and jello feeling legs
Hi all for the last two months my legs have felt rubbery and like jello. They are strong enough no issue there as I can still do all my physical activities. However they feel weak. I am now down to 3 mg of prednisone and have had pmr for 2.5 years. Have been reducing since my last flare, at .5 mgs per

breathlessness??
I have become so breathless can’t even get dressed in one try? Heart specialist says it’s not my heart. Lung specialist says it’s not my lungs. Any input from others out there? Had a stroke in one eye four weeks ago but I guess I can’t plane PMR for that! I went off prednisone and within two days

alcohol
hi has anyone has a couple of alcoholic beverages while on Prednisolone. I am down to 3mg and have been off alcohol since I started my PMR journey. Just wondering if it’s best not to have any alcohol until down to zero, or if a couple of pints would do a lot of harm.

Very tired & can’t walk in straight line.
I was diagnosed in Jan 2023 with PMR & put on 15mg Prednisolone. I am now tapering 1mg per month and am down to 8mg. I am exhausted most of the time, can’t walk in a straight line and stagger quite a bit if very tired. I also have a very annoying sensation under my scalp on the top of my head, which

Skin Rash
I have developed a skin rash all over my body for over a month now. I finished my second round of treatment; rituximab at the end of August 2023 and I have another year to take Venetoclax but my oncologist advised to stop Venetoclax for 3 weeks now. The rash is still going, does anyone have experience

GCA or Dry eye pain
Yesterday was the first day both my eyes hurt. I have been having dry eyes and drops are not doing too much. The pain in both eyes feel like pressure or strain pain. I am worried not knowing if it’s just dry eyes or my GCA acting up. Currently taking 10 mg if prednisone since the last GCA temple pain

Hello after a forced absence.
I stopped getting email updates unexpectedly from PMRGCAuk and at the same time my husband started having health issues so most of my time was spent researching HIS symptoms and trying to make sense of it all. We are back in a waiting pattern till his 5 day EEG finally comes through so thought I would

Eye:Broken Blood Vessel?
I traveled by air out of state yesterday. All went well; except I barely slept the night before traveling due to excitement and details. Last night my left eye stung, and tonight I just noticed red in the conjunctiva; looks like a broken blood vessel. Is this a known side effect of prednisone?(Currently

bleeding at 6 weeks- clexane?
ladies is anyone else on aspirin (I’m on 75mg), clexane and prednisone? I had a bleed at 5am this morning (I’m 6 weeks, 3 days) and am going to get a scan tomorrow to check on things. I’m taking clexane every other day and wondering if I should take it today after the bleed?
