Enteric coated Prednisolone
Hi all, A quick question please. I am currently down to 1.5mg pred & I spoke with my GP about reducing the dose of Lanzoprazole to 15mg & eventually coming off them. She’s given me the 15mg Lanzoprazole along with enteric coated 1mg pred. (I’ve never had these before) It says on the leaflet inside

what if I stop taking Zytiga?
Diagnosed about 14 months ago with metastasis to spine and prostate bed. Started Lupron and Zytiga w/ prednisone. I have seriously struggled staying on Zytiga. The usual side effects are bad enough but three months ago my blood pressure spiked to 222/110 sending me to the ER. I’ve never had high blood

COVID vaccine side effects
I have been on 11 1/2 mg of Prednisone and have been holding my own. Last Thursday I had my 7 th Moderna COVID booster. Since then I have been in terrible pain all over my body. When I take a Tylenol it does help ( which is not usually the case for me, normally). I really do not like taking Tylenol

My son’s Testosterone results:
Last week I posted my son’s three month PSA test and learned that it was the same as last time <0.10 and now I have the matching testosterone results of 7.0. How good or bad is that? I am unfamiliar with testosterone numbers after all the medicines he’s taken, and radiation. I don’t know what the previous

I have posted many times recently about my experience with symptoms of GCA. As many of you know Rhumy’s know only so much and think everything is just handled in a short time. I have been dealing with , in my opinion GCA for over a year.. My Rhumy says we have to teat as GCA while he is not convinced

Tapering
Might be a silly question, so apologies if it is, when slowly reducing prednisolone, are the adrenals being asked “to join the party” and if they aren’t, is that when you can get some feelings of fatigue etc while you wait for them to wake up. Is that why we taper slowly to give them time?

Prednisolone and Surgery
Hi, I have been taking steroids now for at least 6 years. I am currently taking 20mg daily. I have read several articles on this site regarding the need for extra doses when undergoing surgery. Is this correct and if so what are the likely consequences of extra not given.Your expert knowledge would be

Flare?
I have been doing a slow taper from 8 -- two weeks at 7 1/2 and then two days on 7 and I am in pain again. Depressing. This is going to be a longer haul on prednisone than I'd hoped.

Fed up with the PMR pain!
Hello, I've had PMR for about 2.5 years. And apart from the beginning, when the Doctor put me on 15mg of Prednisolone, I've had (varying degrees of) pain every day. I keep going up and down the steroid dosage scale and am currently on 2mg....but not managing very well. I would love to get off these

At zero prednisone, almost a week
Feel a little stiff and sore in the am, but no obvious need for prednisone. I also cut back methotrexate from 6 pills 12mg to 5 pills weekly. Will see Rheumy second week of November. I would like to cut the meth out some more. If I don't need it, I don't want to take it. The Plaquenil I don't mind

Staying on 5mg indefinitely.....
Forgive me if I've brought this up before but after my rheumatologist advised me that there are little or no side effects when on 7.5mg prednisolone providing one takes the right precautions - Calcium, Vit D supplements and healthy eating habits e.g. low or no sugar, low or no carbs, etc. I thought I

Depression as side effect of long term prednisone use?
I’m at the 6 and a half year mark for PMR. Currently at 2. Have been struggling with lower energy and feeling blah for weeks. I see my Dr next month and will discuss adrenal insufficiency. But I just read heard on the Prednisone Pharmacist you tube channel that long term use can cause depression. Does

Helpful you tube channel
prednisone pharmacist is a you tube channel I found yesterday. She is on the medication herself. Thought I’d pass on the info as this community has helped me so much. She also sells supplements.. know nothing about that part

From a Gleason 9 to a clean CT scan in 18 mos.
18 mos ago, my husband was told by his dr. that he "most likely had two or three good years left." (WHY do they say stupid things like that?) I think that a lot of people believe whatever the dr. says and subconsciously program themselves accordingly. I, on the other hand, thought to myself, "We'll

GCA Worries
Hopefully you’ll recall that 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with GCA and put on 60 mg. Prednisone after a positive temporary biopsy. My vision has been ok, except the last couple of days I’m having a strange phenomenon. It seems my eyes are having trouble focusing at a distance. Up close is fine, and if
