All in my mind, apparently!!!
I’d be most interested in opinions on this. Had a telephone conversation with my Rheumy a few weeks ago, which was 9 months since the last one – in a year when I had experienced considerable stress in Health, Work and Bereavement. I explained that I had tried to reduce the 20mg Methotrexate dose to

Pain in Right Hand
Having had lots of replies and helpful advice re my Adrenals questions, it has been pointed out to me that I am more likely to get advice on this hand problem if I make it a seperate post. The problem is a pain in my right hand that is with me most of the time, day and night, and Prednisolone does

Query Re First Few Days: Prednisolone :Edited
Firstly, a huge thank you for everyone's support/responses to my introductory post - I am bowled over, obviously feeling a little sensitive because I spent most of the time catching up on your replies with a snotty nose and tears running down my face - the overwhelming relief that there is recognition

niggles or warnings?
A bit of context before my question. I was diagnosed with PMR in mid August by my GO, who was straight onto it from my telephone description, had me straight in for a blood test, and responded to my face to face description with “polymyalgia” before checking the blood results which confirmed it for

Hello fellow sufferers! I was diagnosed PMR in February after 5 months and started 15mg Pred. Now down to 6mg but struggling. Broke my arm in June, put house on market (sale still going through), stepdaughters mental health reached very low point and just had surgery in unbroken arm. Went down from 7

PMR and Breast Pain
I was diagnosed with GCA in 2016 and after many failed attempts managed to gradually reduce the steroids. Recently, I was diagnosed with PMR and am currently taking 10mg prednisolone. GCA symptoms
I have been suffering with PMR for going on 2 yrs. now. Developed GCA after cataract surgery within 4 days. Finally recognized by great Rheumatologist. I'm being treated with 8mls. liquid prednisolone twice a day. So far so good. Dr. recommended slow taper 1mls per week. Will start tomorrow.

Hives and reducing pred
I’ve had terrible itchy hives on my arms, back, chest and neck for weeks now which is just not getting any better, it started from heat rash whilst on holiday in the summer. I’ve had a small amount of relief from antihistamines (Fexofenadine 180mg) and 2 weeks of Eumovate steroid cream and I’m slathering

PMR and Parkinson's Disease
Background: I have PMR diagnosed 2016 and GCA/extensive LVV diagnosed 2019. I have been on 5mg Prednisolone daily for the past year. I used to also take 25mg Methotrexate weekly but this was stopped in 2022 when I was hospitalised with Methotrexate-induced interstitial lung disease (now resolved).

PMR and coated Prednisolone tablets
Hallo Has anyone been able to have prescribed for them prednisolone tablets that are labelled as "enteric coated" or "gastro resistant" ? these can be taken without food, which would be a boon for me. If I don’t sleep very well, which is common, then I wake late and end up taking my preds about 10am

What happens when Adrenal Gland starts working
I am back down to, and hovering, at 6.5mg Prednisolone, over the past few days have developed a nasty niggling pain deep in the left side of my neck and shoulder. This pain is the same pain I hade when first diagnosed with PMR and is in one of the original places. My question is;- if PMR was caused

Sharp pains in head - lupus related or something else?
Hi all, I have general nerve pain in my head ever since I had concussion and whiplash seven years ago - so I'll get fibromyalgia shoulders and pains travelling up my scalp, particularly the right side. It's not that troublesome. But since I had my Covid jab three weeks ago I've had a few episodes

Palpitations
Hi all. Just had a horrible weekend , fast irregular heart rate, lasted over 1 hour . Of course it had stopped by the time I was monitored, so they didn't really have any record . Spent 2 nights in EAU wired up , lots of ecgs bloods etc. They reassured me it wasn't a heart attack . The flutters continued

The plexopathy continues
After speaking to the consultant again he is saying to maintain long term on a low dose of Prednisolone. I'm back I agony so I have to do something. The Gabapentin isn't helping in the slightest so I'm coming off it slowly. I asked if there was an alternative to the Prednisolone and he mentioned methotrexate
