What causes cold sweats?
I’ve been taking Prednisolone for PMR since May 2021. I’ve been very gradually reducing and have been on 4mg for 1 month. I take the Pred at about 5am with yoghourt and banana. I had Covid 2 weeks ago. I didn’t up the Pred dose. I have no PMR pain. I feel ok in the mornings but have high anxiety

Allendronic Acid and Cholesterol
Telephone consultation this morning went as I thought it would. What dosage of Prednisolone are you on? 2.75mg I answered. So you will be coming down to 2mg? No, I taper by a quarter of a mg every 5 weeks. I will be tapering to 2.5mg. And so it went on! I am advised that I need to start taking Allendronic

Suspected flare - ? When to up the steroids
Hi, I’m posting this query although I think I know what the answer will be. It’s almost 4 years since my PMR diagnosis. The lowest dose of Prednisolone I’ve managed so far is 8.5 mg. I’ve successfully reduced from 10mg at the start of January 24 (.5 mg at a time) using the DSNS (5 weeks) to 8.5 mg

Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a while but have been following the forum. Anti-malaria tablets
Does anyone know the best anti-malaria tablets to take with Prednisolone, and whether taking anti-malaria tablets can cause problems at all? Thank you.

PMR/Prednisolone - Pelvic floor issues and endometrial proliferation

Help sought, AIT and carbimazole
After 3 years on Amiodarone I was diagnosed with thyrotoxicosis. I was put on a combination of prednislone and carbimazole. Nothing much happened for 5 months with levels of T3 T4 very high and totally suppressed TSH. From that point onwards though my T3 T4 levels started to drop quickly until they became

Overactive thyroid diagnosis following blood test for vit B12 and folate deficiency prompted by tingling symptoms.
Whatever next?! I'm currently at 5 mg prednisolone slow tapering, and this latest diagnosis seems to be another reason for the periods of intense fatigue! and I was blaming the steroids! Is it both? I will talk to a clinician on 6th August (if I'm not lucky enough to get an earlier appointment).

PMR / Pred & fatigue
I am on 10mg of Prednisolone a day for PMR. Was diagnosed at the back end of 2023 Had all sorts of issues which I posted before. However I also now seem to have a recuring issue. My PMR symptoms are in check. I have no pain & 10mg is working, however I struggle to rouse in the morning & it takes me

New journey?
I was diagnosed with PMR in April 2020 and have reduced from initial dose of 40mgs of Prednisolone to 5mgs, where I have become a bit stuck. Today I have been diagnosed with GCAand put on 40mgs and return visit to GP next week, with blood tests in between. Just wondering what my journey will be like

prednisolone and fibro
Hi all , I have been put on prednisolone for a flare of my polymyalgia rheumatica recently and it’s really helping with my Fibro . Now I know it’s not really something the docs want to keep you on due to side effects, but has anyone else found the benefits of this - really interested to hear what you

Cod Liver Oil Supplements with Prednisolone
Been on prednisolone (UK) since 01/11/2022. I'm currently taking 3mgs/4mgs on alternate days. 3mgs was too much for me. Anyway if on pred, can we take cod liver oil supplements please? The tablets are ginormous so my husband has bought the liquid. Don't want to start unless it's OK to do so. Any opinions

Rituximab treatment maintenance
Just had second infusion for first round of Rituximab treatment and all is well. Thanks to everyone for getting me through it. And now the follow up. I have a telephone consultation in 3 months - is this time gap standard practice? I'm currently taking 10mg Prednisolone and want to reduce it down. Does

Prescription for Pred has been cancelled
I am currently on Week 5 of a 7-week taper from 1mg to 0.75mg. This morning I logged on to my surgery’s website and realised that my repeat prescription for Pred had been cancelled, presumably by the GP in the practice who advised “no further suppression required” after I received the result of my basal
