Steroids and weak bones
Do any of you have osteoporosis due to steriods?Started dupilimab in January - it works well enough to get me off prednisolone ( it has unpleasant side effects - it plays hell with my sinuses - sneezing coughing and headaches). I have asked for a dexa scan as it is around five years since my last and

side effect?
Has anyone else noticed a change in their food tastes as a side effect of Prednisolone? At the age of 67 I generally know what food & drink I like and I find that I don’t enjoy or even want a cup of tea any more for example. Fish is no longer on the menu, makes me feel slightly sick. Is this common

Hello this is my second time with GCA. The first time (2017) I also had PMR and tapered prednisone over 4 years, very slowly. After almost a year off of prednisone completely I contacted GCA again and started again at 60mg prednisone. Actemra was not started until I was at 10 mg. currently I’m

Not PMR but now diagnosed with Polymyositis?
After being diagnosed for 5 months with PMR and being on (& tapering) Prednisone, with further blood tests, my Rheumy has concluded that it isn't PMR at all. He says that the Pred will help with the pain but the test indicate that it's Polymyositis. He want's me to continue the slow taper of the Pred

D mannose
I think I saw a post which said it was okay to take D mannose with prednisone, adcal and the other things we take for PMR and GCA but I can’t find it. I have taken 5 courses of antibiotics since February for a persistent UTI and I think it might be worth seeing if this will help to get rid of it. Thanks

PMR remission maybe
As I mentioned in an earlier post after spending 30 days for each reduction tapering from 15mg-12.5mg -10mg, my nurse practitioner put me on a taper of 1 mg every two weeks. This week I began the 1mg dose and over the tapering period I have not had any flares so far. I am happy to be finishing

Increase in Foot Swelling During Tapering
I wanted to check in to see if others have had a problem similar to mine. I had some increased fluid retention and neuropathy in my feet when I first started the 15mg dose of prednisone, but it wasn’t severe. I am finding as I have lowered the dose (now almost completely at 8mg using DL’s slow tapering

gum recession
Hi I have been on Pred for 5 years now and still tapering. Now tapered to 2 mg finally. Its been very up and down but seems to be getting better. my question is : I started to have gum recession and I can say it definitely was never an issue before I developed PMR. It could be just coincidental

5/25 update on Zytiga failed
To review, after 19 months on Lupron, Zytiga, prednisone, PSA increased on 1/23 to 0.253, then 0.309 on 2/21. Plarify scan showed only one active site in hip which was radiated. 4/4 PSA dropped to 0.24 which indicated the lesion was knocked out and I would be hormone sensitive and stay on Zytiga. Yea

I'm new to this site, so please excuse me if there are already similar questions to mine! I'm having PMR type symptoms and have today started a course of Prednisone. My problems began in February this year (2023). I just wonder whether it's possible they have anything to do with my booster shot in

Not GCA or PMR after all.
in January 2022 I was prescribed Prednisolone for probable GCA. In February 2023 after MRI, CT and Pet scan I was told I didn’t have GCA or PMR and that my head pain was Trigeminal Neuralgia. During this time I had been tapering and finished Prednisolone in February. The rheumatologist referred me to

Thinking of our conversation on pred level and how to handle stressful moments to keep adrenal drama at bay....
So things for me and PMR and pred have not gone the way a lot of folks have. I read about when you take the pred in the beginning most have amazing relief then begin the journey of slowly reducing to find the next good dose. Then reading the symptom tea leaves of symptoms to make decisions on the next

Hello All, I have two questions: 1. This is for PMR Pro who I believe lives in Northeastern Italy? The floods seem horrendous and I am wondering if you are all right. 2. I am in France and after a spell with heart palpitations that were different from my usual mitral valve plus scenario, I saw a
