achille’s tendons anyone?
I was doing great on 5 mgs prednisone and feeling like my old self. Frankly thought I was on my way to remission. Went to 2.5 mg. Okay for a couple days then my left ankle became tender and started swelling. I’d been doing some heavy lifting and moving of furniture so I chalked it off to that. BUT the

Why do my symptoms feel like Multiple Sclerosis when I taper?
Hi Everyone, I have had to go backwards from 2 years of tapering. I am now at 12 1/4 mg Prednisone today. At times during the day, when I can feel the inflammation inhabiting my body with extreme physical fatigue, extreme tingling extremities and inability to walk as usual. My legs move very slowly

Platelet blood work
Hi, Dr initially diagnosed me with PMR (47 yr old). After being on 30 mg prednisone for 13 weeks almost and not a lot of improvement he is now exploring other seronegative spondylitis types eg AS or reactive arthritis. Still awaiting HLA-B27 blood tests results. I received 2 blood tests today back 1)

Prednisone and hair coloring
My stylist is blaming the prednisone after a disastrous hair coloring episode…going from grey to my usual blonde tone and it turned bright orange….really bright orange! Has anyone had difficulty with hair coloring while on prednisone? I’m currently at 6 mg and feel great with the very slow tapering.

Hi there 👋
Always looking for tips in dealing with PMR, prednisone, side effects of steroids, tapering, lifestyle adjustments and interpersonal relations. And sometimes it’s great to have a place to check out if what I’m experiencing is par for the course or maybe it’s not PMR and I need to check it out.

PMR Cured?
After 9 years and 11 months I have finally weaned myself off Prednisone. I started at 20mg per day for PMR and used the slow reduction method to reduce the dose. For some years I could not drop below 3.5mg and thought I would be on Pred forever. Nothing worked until I changed my diet by cutting out

Two Qs: Benefits treatment; onset of bone pain
Greetings all. As my bio explains, I am 5 yrs since diagnosis. Had removal surgery, and then EB radiation. PSA kept climbing so I started Lupron 2 years ago. Worked until recently when PSA spiked. PETscan showed metastasis for first time into torso lymph nodes. Been on Aberiterone and Prednisone for

Hydrocortisone versus Prednisone
My wife was diagnosed with addison's disease, she started using predsinose up to 7.5mg daily and 0. 2mg of fludrocortisone, after starting the treatment she had a slight improvement, she came out of the crisis she had when she was diagnosed with the disease, but to have a slow pace of life, she did not

All my life, since first fickle finger test at 16, I have had either an enlarged prostate or a VERY large prostate. Annual PSA for well over 20 years, always good. 18 months ago, 5, which they tell me for my advanced age is "good". Urologist followup due to a kidney stone previous year 3 months after

Dizzy spells not magic
Hi, I am down to 2mg of prednisolone and have had some days of fatigue which I managed with rest. I seem to have reduced fairly swiftly from 20mg which I started in early March 22 for PMR.. I am having more frequent days where I feel more energetic and just have some stiffness in legs in the morning

Live shingles vaccine or not?
I would appreciate your guidance on the importance of which kind of shingles vaccine to have, i.e. live or not? I am on medication for GCA, 5.5mg Prednisolone, plus Levothyroxine, Bisoprolol, Amlodipine, Rosuvastatin, Ursodeoxycholic Acid, Famotidine, Losartan. With many thanks.

Rheumatologist refuse to believe I have PMR.
They choose not to provide me any more prednisone. I have been off for a week now. Many of the physical symptoms have returned since being off. I was hoping the increase of systematic inflammation was due to a chronic tooth infection, and not to say it may not have influenced, but I cannot deny the fact

After a long 8 years and 3 months with PMR, a week ago I weaned off prednisone. I had been at 1mg for months then went to 1/2 then alternate days. I have had a few aches but nothing of the old pain and discomfort. Each day is better. Just the back and neck issues from stenosis now ! Hopefully things

Heading into several stressful weeks, should I hold steady?
I live with two other housemates who are 67 & 69 y.o., I'm 60. The 67 y.o. housemate is having major back surgery where they will be widening his spinal canal and placing two rods in his back. The 69 y.o. housemate is also having major surgery to remove a bad kidney. Mind you, both of these surgeries

ADT and Tendon Pain
Now in my 3rd year of ADT (Eligard), which has also included 2 years of Abi + Prednisone. I had issues with my tendons for years before my PC, but the problem has worsened steadily with the PC drugs. I now have tendonitis in both feet, both achilles, a hip, wrist, elbow and shoulder. We're encouraged

Best way to take Prednisolone
Have different brand of Prednisolone this week so read the information leaflet and it says to dissolve the tablets in large glass of water and wondered if that is a better way to take them ? Previous brand just said take as directed by docter but as there was no instruction I’ve just been swallowing
