Help Needed with spirometry results?
Cutting a very long story short. Never smoked, weight always been ok, except maybe needing to lose 1/2 stone, always exercised. Since my 30’s lungs sensitive to smoke, perfume, chemicals etc. Allergic to dust/cats as is quite usual, Had chronic cough for years but cleared up once I gave up gluten (!!

Calcified Lymph Node or Granuloma
I had a sinus infection a week ago and began a course of antibiotics. I am now on a stronger course due to it moving into my lungs. My doctor ordered a chest x-ray. It showed a calcification in the left helium of my lung. They classified it as a calcified lymph node or calcified granuloma. Has anyone

Pneumonia follow up test
Hi everyone, I’m new here so bear with me please. I was admitted to hospital about 10 days ago with Pneumonia, I was told it was fairly severe. I’d been feeling quite ill for almost 2 weeks before hand, which I assumed was flu. I’d seen my gp who prescribed antibiotics for a chest infection, with no

Just need to talk with someone that is going through similar arthritis experience really. I have psoriatic arthritis (every #$%^ing part of me) which I know is different from RA but the drug treatments are the same pallet. Last Monday I had a call with a Rheumatology consultant, I just couldn't drag

Flu
Here goes!I have severe COPD and I had a flu jab approx. 1 month ago. About 10 days after that I felt I was going down with an infection and I used my rescue pack - Amoxycillin and Preds. I felt functional, although poorly, whilst taking the steroids but the day I finished them was devastating. I could

Please I need help with my sister's chest pains. What do we do?
Hi, my 13 year old sister was diagnosed with hypertension in September. She used some antihypertensives and spent 2 weeks in the hospital and she got better. She was also advised to start working out because she's morbidly obesed for her age (119kg). She did as the doctors said but one time she started

Can't get definitive diagnosis
After clean scans for 2 years, I began to feel ill in September and was diagnosed with pneumonia. I went through a short round of antibiotics and had a chest X-ray which showed a mass in the right lower lobe. I was sent to my pulmonologist who immediately did a bronchoscopy. I was then placed on a 5

Why would a different hospital trust want access to my records?
My normal hospital trust has an online service that tells you when appointments are changed or notes added. Things like that... Today I’ve had an email to say that the patient records service at a totally different hospital trust has been granted access to my records. I have no idea why. Has anyone else

Please help:
The last few days I’ve noticed that when I wake up, I feel as if I cant move. My legs feel weak and numb. Sometimes this happens during the day even when I’m not just waking up. It’s also been waking me up from my sleep and sometimes it’s my whole body that feels weak and sometimes it’s just half of

On going investigation
Hi there I wrote a post a week ago or so my husband has suspected PMR and has had his prednisone increased to 30mg a day which is doing the trick he has no pain. His bloods came back with one inflammatory marker down but one had gone up not sure if crp or esr this was after being in initial prednisone

A conundrum
I posted on here yesterday saying I was having breathing issues (one stent fitted in March) and a slight niggling pain in the chest. Listened to advice and went to A&E. 7 hours later, ECG and lots of blood taken, resulting in the heart being fine. Good news. However, (and I promise I am a very pragmatic

Beginner's questions...
Hello! I am a 67 year old woman, still working as a freelancer – although increasingly reduced work load, a very sedentary job. I had a medical referral to the gym and for past year was going 3 times a week (normally!) to strengthen my muscles for my arthritic knees (which were much improved). Back

Hi, I just recently found this forum and have some concerns. Over the past few years I've had very bizarre and troubling symptoms and have been to doctors and specialists many times. They don't seem to believe my symptoms or sweep them under the rug as it can't be that bad. Back in 2017 I went to a

Increasing severe spinal and chest pain
Hi all, I have had an osteoarthritis diagnosis since 1981 and was probably active for a few years prior to that following a serious car accident in 1971 where I was thrown out the back of a rolling vehicle at about 70 mph. I was knocked out for quite a while and landed on the icy ground bottom first

It’s been a loooong night 😴😴
It all started Sunday when I woke with a cold which my gut told me was going to hit my chest. But it’s 10am and I’m just snotty and sinusy and a mild asthma issue. Treat it and reassure my mum (who’d I’d been visiting) I’m not bad enough for hosp. Make my 12 o’clock train and feel dodgy enough I need

Update on my Dad
Well...first time taking a breath. My Dad became so weak he couldn’t keep himself in a sitting position at times, other times, though very weak, with help standing, he could use a walker. Then, not interested in football! So tired just wanted to go back to bed, not shaving, getting dressed too much trouble
