It Never Rains
What an absolute few months I've had. Have been on a constant heavy period, where I'm losing blood clots for the past 5 months, plus having really bad issues with breathing, which added to all my comorbidities is an absolute bugger. Due for a chest x-ray and an ultrasound this week. Then to top it all

pramipexole (containing Dopamine), can it contribute to heart regurgitation?
I recently had an echocardiogram after chest x-ray for breathlessness and it was thought to show an enlarged heart , but later found it wasn’t, hence the ecg. It has shown that I have some regurgitation which GP said nothing to worry about but I have read that Dopamine can be a cause of this. Can anyone

Finally got to see rheumatologist on 8 Dec for the urgent appointment requested by my GP in June (!) He took a detailed history and did a thorough examination (I didn’t realize how much everything was hurting until he prodded all the muscles round my joints - been quite sore since.) His conclusion

Confusion
One of the things most interesting about using this site is the variety of different experiences people have with the same problem, in my case bronchiectasis. I have been diagnosed for 12 years and see my consultant regularly. She is a bit unforthcoming and big on science. In that time I have had one

Possible Blood Clots
Hi all, it’s me again! So in the early hours of Monday morning I was woken by an intense pain in my chest and it took me about an hour to settle the pain and go back to sleep (after realising that it would go away if I didn’t move). When I woke up on Monday morning the pain was still there but only

Husband with PD hospitalised with uti infection
I'm worried sick about my husband, he became very unsteady on his feet, couldn't stand up, couldn't walk his speech changed dramatically to a tiny whisper he just can't make himself heard. This all happened in the space of a couple of weeks his neuro suggested a UTI and he was started on antibiotics

Just thought I'd write an update. Any information I have on MPN has been obtained from this site, which i am very grateful for. I thought that my explaining my experiences might help others. I've been on Pegasys for about 18 months platelets were initially 530 I started on 45mcg weekly. Went up to

B12 deficient - just wanted to share
Hi all, I just wanted to share my story as I've had so many thoughts and concerns rattling around my head these past couple of weeks that I don't know if I'm coming or going. I have had occasional heart palpitations since at least late spring, but didn't really think much of it until a month ago when

Even though I've commented on other posts, this is my first. In July I coughed up blood, saw the GP who organised a chest x-ray. The GP called me an hour after the x-ray to tell me I had a 6cm shadow on my right lung and it could be cancer. After meeting a respiratory consultant, I had CT scan, PET scan

any similar experience?
Hello friends, I did a chest X-ray following a bad flu to check for pneumonia which I didn’t have. The x-ray showed a prominent pulmonary artery. My doctor suggested doing an echo which showed a prominent artery as well. I have zero symptoms and I run everyday 7k! I’m scheduled for a CT scan to see what

Cough cough cough - Methotrexate?
I have PMR/GCA/LVV – all currently under control on 5mg Pred and 25mg MTX. However… I’ve had a terrible cough for three weeks now. Thank the Lord for Tena Ladies! I’ve gone through a bottle of Kovonia from the local pharmacist; a course of Doxycycline 100mg antibiotics from GP1 (telephone consult)

Why ………..
My fit and healthy 48 year old husband sadly passed away on the 6th November 2022. It all began on the 3rd October 2022 when he coughed up some blood that morning whilst brushing his teeth. We got him an appointment that day to see our local GP who after a quick check of his chest was not overly concerned

Results of recent X-ray-Early signs of COPD non acute
Hello Would firstly like to say I feel for anyone struggling with this disease. I personally feel quite shocked that I have probably got it! I’ve recently been told that my chest X-ray revealed that I have early signs of COPD but that it is non acute. I think I had two Covid infections this year

Just a Little Worried
Hello, I went to the GP in May with a pain in the left-hand side of my chest and some breathlessness. A chest X-ray showed hyperinflated lungs, and a blood test showed elevated amylase levels. I was referred for spirometry to check for COPD, and the GP wrote to a consultant to see if a CT scan

Epicardial Backpack
Does anyone know what an epicardial backpack is please? I had a chest X-ray and although I haven't spoken with the doctor yet as she is busy, the receptionist said about the epicardial backpack and some other words I didn't understand. The X-ray was for covid induced lung/chest infection and possibly

A Fib again
I have had a fib for 4 years and been advised it will not damage your heart. Cardiology advise that the terrible tiredness I get is due to something else. I cannot take beta-blockers because they lower my blood pressure, making me ill. Fleccanaide has no effect. Following a chest x-ray, (all clear)

Third try at posting, this time not members only
I went to the Urgent CAre centre last Thursday because my BP monitors had been showing an erratic beat every day for 5 days They did a very brief ECG, blood test and chest x ray, told me I had atrial ectopics , gave me antibiotics for goodness knows what and sent me home. Friday , Monday and Tuesday
