Hi all, I have had an osteoarthritis diagnosis since 1981 and was probably active for a few years prior to that following a serious car accident in 1971 where I was thrown out the back of a rolling vehicle at about 70 mph. I was knocked out for quite a while and landed on the icy ground bottom first causing compression of thoracic vertebra and hitting the back of my head on the solid ice.
Over the past 4 months or more I have had more pain in my hips, full spine but worst in the thoracic spine and bruising and pain in the ribs, stiff and painful cervical spine constant with a sharp neck pain going up over the back of the head to the back of my right eye. It is also present in my right shoulder going down the arm to my fingers which burn and tingle.
I am at the moment worried about small cell cancer of the lung with lung cancer metastasis of the bones. I have had a cough for quite a period of time with coughing up bloody sputum on several occasions.
Prior to this 4 months ago I had a DVT in my left calf and a month later another one in the right calf, so I am on warfarin daily. My GP does not think it is cancer because the chest x-ray was clear. I have done quite a lot of research on the net and the signs and symptoms of lung cancer are the same of what I have. Nothing else matches. Hopefully a consultant might be able to shine some light on my symptoms. Best regards Oldman1952.

I'm so sorry that you feel do rotten at the moment. Have you got an appointment with a consultant? If you have, he will then be able to advise you and have the appropriate tests. I hope you get sorted very soon. Please take care of yourself Lynne
I have the same thing opposite side but they say I’m full of crap lol. I have spinal stenosis. I also had neck injury in 2013. & other injuries. My body got too weak and I feel my bones sliding and if I can click it in place the pain goes down 50 %. I need to do neck exercises. And I have breathing troubles. I don’t think it’s cancer is your mouth dry ? I’m wondering if your weak neck is causing acid to splash up there your muscles in throat not coordinating. I’ve been coughing up blood too same deal but my cat scan on lungs was relatively ok. But my gastritus snd neck pain been bad. Very dry throat. I’m weak. I have nerve damage back of my skull too. Occipital neuralgia. Do you go to a good Chiro that can help you with exercises for it lol like resistance I need to do this again. I forget because I’m so sick. Try to see a lung doctor & gastro. I may be sent to thoracic spine doc can you go there to one? They also do ph testing in your throat with your poor posture it’s likely. It’s hard to breathe lay on stomach on floor like Sphinx it’s very hard for me I try to do it even just one two minutes. So my stomach ends up under my ribs from posture it’s hell . Check yours.
Did you get some tests done ? I’m still bringing up blood I have severe gastritus and I can’t bresthe burnt throat. Gas no core gone on so long just awful. I hope they scanned you and got answers
Hi there guitara69, I have been taking Lansoprazol 30 mg twice per day because of GERD. My neck muscles are really strong following exercise regime. I do however have dysphagia which is a problem swallowing. I have had a cough for a long time now and the occasional sticky brownish red sputum. My throat is dry at times because of type 2 diabetes.I do have scoliosis so my spine has a hump bending forwards that also increases the pain. If you read the literature on small cell lung cancer metastasise of lung cancer of the bones, I have every sign and symptom. I am not a health computer junkie but a former nurse that knows a lot because of the time spent in the profession, 45 years +.
At night I take 24 different medications because of the chronic type of illnesses I have. Including severe obstructive sleep apnoea and restless leg syndrome. Both of which can cause brain damage too.
I have the same thing but my ct scan was fine. My GERD is the culprit. It’s severe now. I’ve been under a lot of stress and the head meds they put me in made my GERD way worse I coukd bresthe before. They gave me chronic constipation. I’m in incredible pain but they won’t hospitalize me. I’ve lost most of my hair from chronic stress. I went off the meds I wish I’d stayed on but they were bothering me so much they actually did me in from hanging in too. I have to see rectal surgeon now from the damage. I’m in burn out I was taking laxatives enemas daily 7 months. I had to take colonoscopy clean out with severe gastritus 3 x just to get stuff out I have had no pain control in 7 months from that psychiatrist not taking me seriously. He says I did this to myself. I did in a way. I was human I had a lot of stress I went through health stuff loss back to being called crazy & I wasn’t. Then I was. Im not getting enough oxygen to my brain I know.
I think for us the pills hurt us more than helped. I know what you’re going through. And it may not be what you think. As I have same. You’re stressed and your guts are a mess from both and your run the F down. Sleep apnea dries your mouth throat out. Are you gargling salt water daily? Also there is a supplement called L theanine it won’t hurt you it calms you. I take it throughout the day. You can give yourself B 12 shots over counter to boost your mood and you can go to herbalist and get slippery elm l glutamine marshmallow root it’s an emulsifier it soothes your stomach if you can get in powder form it will help 3 x day. My whole insides are inflammed and my butt thanks to stress and compounded by meds 50 fold. Shitty psychiatrist not listening to a woman who had 5 surgeries in her pelvis and severe stress burn out you’d think he would hospitalization me but won’t I can’t even walk faint. I’m worried I have heart damage from all this. I get a test done this week.
I feel like giving up. I’ll have no hair from the emotional physical pain. I keep setting it off I ate a few things wrong in summer it got away in me it’s nearly 6 months later and shrinks yelling at me to do things meanwhile my butts a mess. Pains off charts and guts from constsnt stress taking laxatives. I’m worried he damaged my pelvis to degree it’s done for. I find the stimach meds give me cinstipation severe gas it’s painful. I had no idea medical system could just send you home like this over n over.
Do what you can for your guts if you can get off meds try too slowly. And get that stuff I suggested and soft foods. The truth is the meds are what is killing us slowly. They should be short term things.
