Living with one kidney
I was wrongly diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2012 and they removed my right kidney. I feel great,no issues, but I just did my lab test recently and my Creatinine is little high (1.18) , GFR is low (53). I am on Atkins diet since April (lots of protein and fat, little carbs) and not sure if this is

Cholesterol blood test
My husband was referred to do a cholesterol test and his GP told him not to fast. She said that because he has Graves the results won’t be accurate. He didn’t ask about the detailed reasons and now is asking me what to do! I don’t understand any of it. Would you please let me know whether you fast or

Thyroid and other labs
I have been feeling hyperthyroid lately so have been decreasing Thyroid-S over several months, from 5 to 3 grains, without much symptom relief I might add. My latest labs from Sept 09 read as follows: TSH <0.01 mUI/L (0.35-4.5) free T4 ng/dL 0.7 (0.7-1.5) free T3 pg/mL 2.7 (1.6-3.2) I usually take Thyroid-S

Heart Attack Journal
On 20th August, I had a minor heart attack. I've written a couple of posts about it and have mentioned it in various replies. It occurred to me that, instead of a scattering of updates, it would be better to keep it all in one place. Hence this "Journal". My plan is to keep updating this text so that

UK cholesterol checks
Hello all, my heart’s OK. A recent scan (64 slice CT, done privately overseas) showed some minor plaque in my LAD, but my calcium score was zero, and the consultant wasn’t concerned except to say I should watch my cholesterol. My total cholesterol was normal at the end of 2018 but is slightly higher

Blood test results for my Mom. Please may I ask for help reviewing them given her suspected heart attack some weeks back. Thankyou.
May I ask the expertly knowledgeable folk on this site to please assess my mothers recent blood tests results - post a suspected heart attack. We are in a very difficult situation. Our GP practice is deteriorating at a rate of knots! They are drastically short of doctors. The practice has quietly amalgamated

Sleeping patterns and time of TSH test
So just to give some context, my story is that I have almost all of the hypothyroid symptoms and have had blood work done which confirms a suspect pattern also associated with hypothyroid but a visit to the GP has revealed that in fact, I am perfectly healthy. No follow up in investigation needed. High
