I've been told not to worry about my cholesterol results but since I am gradually losing faith on official conventional doctor I would like to know your opinion, if any. Thank you. ps. the doctor said that since my good cholesterol is high I am ok...

Questions, unanswered questions and implied questions ?
We all have unanswered questions. we all ask one question and see if we can find the correct answer! What is fasting blood glucose test and ? What is HbA1c1 blood test and why? Is there a new guide line to HbA1c level? How is insulin dosage calculated? Is life style change and regular exercise important

Anti Statin Agenda
Being new to statins I decided to search this forum, and HU's Cholesterol one, with the search term of "statin". I have never seen such negativity. What I cannot understand is why as it seems to have stabilised both the cholesterol level and plaque for millions both helping prevent cardiac events and

High cholesterol?
I had my 3 monthly Thyroid test with Thriva and added a Lipid profile to the test as I have never had my cholesterol tested before and my mum has high cholesterol. The following results came back:
Cholesterol
- 5.95mmol/L (range: 0-5.0)
HDL
- 1.21mmol/L (range: >1.3)
Triglycerides[

NHS done good by me.
Because I was unable to control my cholesterol within acceptable levels and most of the bad stuff was made within my body, I've been given a self injection drug called Praluent 150 mg. I inject every 14 days. It works extremely well and my lipids are now well within range of good. The only downside is

Flawed cholesterol study makes headlines
"A controversial study has argued that if you have a high LDL (bad) cholesterol level when you are aged over 60, you will live longer, there is no increased risk of cardiovascular disease and that statins will have little effect. But can we trust these bold claims?" >> My personal lived experience

Fish oil and cholesterol
I have been on what's labelled a "high quality fish oil for optimal heart health" (cod oil) for the past six months and taking the maximum recommended dose of two capsules daily. However, it seems to have done nothing for my triglyceride and cholesterol levels; my triglycerides came back out of range

Is there agreement that Cholesterol should be low?
I've seen some discussions on here regarding the pros and cons of statins, Mediterranean diet, going vegan etc. Think I need to learn more before I can make any decision. However, as a starting point, is there general agreement that having a low total cholesterol level is good for preventing a heart
