Morning,
I havent been on here for a while as ive been busy working and enjoying the summertime.
I had my annual copd check and its a bit better than last year-the only thing i put it down to is a Salt pipe ive been using-so if you havent tried one it might help? I got mine from Amazon.
Yesterday i had my blood test results back from screening i hadnt had Cholesterol done for 5 yrs! Oops.
Anyway my GP rings to say I have a faulty gene ( hereditary) and that my Triglycerides are high and my HDL cholesterol is low. Diet changes help but wont cure it. It means she wants me to go in Statins-there is heart disease in my family. Im not sure what to do-ive heard/read so many things about Statins and side effects but im at risk of heart attack or stroke-plus the copd thats stacked against me.
Feeling a bit fed up cause after 2 operations in one year i was pleased that ive bounced back and got on track with my health again.
Anyone else take Statins or have this problem of faulty gene?
Could do with some positive advice please!
