Lower Carb, High in Healthy Fats, Lots of Greens, Moderate Protein and my total cholesterol number (CT Heart Scan)

Diagnosed in Jan of 2019, 52 y.o, mild symptoms at this point (hoping to keep it that way through meds, exercise, diet, self care, love, compassion.....). Saw Dr. Mischley 2 weeks ago and she ordered a blood panel specific for PD. My total cholesterol number was well over 300. I've been eating "Lower Carb, High in Healthy Fats, Lots of Greens, Moderate Protein" for at least 8 years. I loved the impact of that style of eating. I had improved energy, mental clarity and asthma like conditions and other gastrointestinal stuff disappeared. Obviously disappointed with the PD dx with all of my attention to diet and exercise over the years but what the F ever. Gotta role with it. But anyway, my PCP was floored by my cholesterol numbers, Laurie concerned as well and my Neurologist concerned also. So on my own I ordered a CT heart scan. My calcium score came back "0". No concern re any coronary events in the present or foreseeable future. I report this as I know we are all looking to slow, stop or reverse progression and diet is a big deal. I'm not sure how this information is going to influence me as I was considering some modifications based on the high total cholesterol numbers. The total cholesterol number has been high ever since I have started this style of eating. My internal numbers like triglycerides, hdl and particle size have always come back top notch. John

No worries. Calcium counts. Cholesterol has got a bad rap but its involvement in cardiovascular disease is secondary. See my writing here:
