Hi there, just wondering if anyone knows what this could mean as my time of the month is every two months and when I have it I only have slight bleeding and it can last for 18 days, my liver serum ALT level is 134 u/l (<33) high and my serum HDL cholesterol level is 1.2 mmol/L (>1.2) low, my doctor requested for more bloods and to see me with a follow up appointment but I'm just worried and want to know where I stand because I've been reading up about the meanings and it says about cancer and blood disorders and chronic infections just want a little insite in if I've got to prepare for the worst outcome thankyou x

It would have to be a lot higher for a blood cancer. You are barely out of range on the white count, probably not even an infection. If you smoke or have any kind of chronic inflammation, your white count can be elevated. I have chronically high white count, usually 14-20 and my hematologist is not the least bit concerned by it because of my very high inflammation marker which I see your doctor didn’t do. (CRP). Inflammation also raises monocytes. With a high ALT your liver could be inflamed. It could be as simple as taking too many Tylenol, a side effect of statin medication, too much alcohol, fatty liver disease, obesity, or hepatitis.
I don’t know how old you are but bleeding only every two months can be peri menopause. Some people go through that in their 30s!
HDL cholesterol is the good one, you can raise it with a better diet.
