2 Weeks and 5 days
I’m new here and have stopped smoking after 40 years. It’s only been 2 weeks and 5 days and I’m using Chantix. It’s been easy except that my taste buds have not recovered. My food taste awful. Just wondering when that will change?

After six days of hell there is hopefully a light at the end of the tunnel.
I am really surprised that more people didn't experience any of this when they finished
champix
.

71 Days no smoking in Sorrento
I stopped the
Champix
last Friday (after 10 & half weeks) having been on a half a day just over a week before. I feel great, no cravings at all, so to anyone just starting this journey please stick with it - If I can get this far after 50 years of puffing my life away so can you.

. I do feel a little better today.

60 Days 😀
Have struggled with the
CHAMPIX
to be honest but made a decision last week to halve the morning dose & cut out the night one. It has worked wonders & no cravings at all. Prob because I am approaching the end of the 12 week course. Good luck to you all.

Nearly 8 months off the fags
Yes
champix
was horrid at times but overall not that bad, yes it made the ciggarettes taste yuck, which is what is was meant to do. But it gave me that kick to give up me 35 year addiction.

Popping back in to say Hi 😁
Hi everyone, I gave up smoking with
Champix
in Oct (Stoptober) 2017 so two years in a couple of months time 👍😁 I would never have done it without this forum and the lovely admin and other quitters at that time.

Tomorrow is two weeks since I have finished the champix.
The last two weeks were pretty bad. But today I feel better. But most of today I have been craving a cig. This is by far the worst day yet. The good news is I didn't smoke. I just keep telling myself that tomorrow will be better.

Hopefully when I am done my champix the cigarette smoke will still smell awful.
Hopefully when I am done my
champix
the smoke still smells this bad. I was so worried that if I was around a smoker that I would want one. But that didn't happen.

Now 30 days smoke free!
Nearly finished my 6th week on
Champix
. Feeling proud of myself - but still suffering with bad sleep patterns. To anyone out there who is just starting to quit - hang on in there - it’s worth it. If I can do it after 50 years of smoking so can you. Have faith and belief in yourself.

What to expect after champix?
Once I am done my twelve weeks of
champix
what can I expect? I am planning a trip to visit my mother, week after I finish my
champix
. She lives in a small town and not a lot to do there. My sister lives with her. My sister is a smoker. She does smoke outside.

Hi Everyone I quit smoking 129 days ago using
Champix
whilst I am very proud of the fact I haven’t smoked in 129 days, I smoked for 26 years and never thought I could quit! I am struggling recently as I have put a stone and a half on in weight!

Next week I start my quitting journey.. again!
Following on from reading the posts on here I went to my Doctor who was horrified and prescribed me
Champix
.. so (due to non availability in my chemist) I start my battle against nicotine addiction once more.
