I tried before to stop, had patches, ecig, champix off Dr, nothing worked. Everytime I went to Dr's with chest infection he would tell me I need to stop smoking and give me the helpline card, and that's it.

I’m seeing the dr tomorrow after blood tests last Friday hopefully I can go on the Champix and get myself sorted and support my husband by not smoking. I do get inspired by what I read on here. Thank you all

Had to rely on Champix to support me but it was worth it. So to those just starting out please stick with it - there is light at the end of the tunnel.!

I have just been informed there is no Champix throughout the country. Does anyone know when/if this will change?

It was tough, but with champix and this forum I did it. After that, had one relapse and I thought I was doomed again but bravely enough, I reset my count and stopped again. I did not count the days anymore, I think I'm around 3 years smoke free... I don't even know anymore to be honest.
