Re: 'new girl ... any advice.' Thanks loads
As far as smoking goes, ironically I gave up completely about a month before I was diagnosed with COPD (I was coughing that badly, I used
Champix
, fantastic, it seemed really easy, I recommend it to anyone who is trying to quit).

I stopped taking
Champix
about 3 days ago as I do not want to endure these effects any longer and feel my habits have already started to change. I am very very grateful to
Champix
as it DOES work to put you off.

As for the side effects of the
champix
I only take half the dose of what the doctor prescribed, morning and evening. I take it with lots of food and make sure the evening dose is quite early on.

Smoker to Triathlete: My bare all confession
Between us we formulated a plan for me to start taking
Champix
again and to recommence the journey to being a non smoker again (she was amazingly supportive, which was not what I was expecting). I have now been a non smoker since Friday 2nd November and am taking each day as it comes.

I feel I'll never be able to quit
I can't use Zyban or
Champix
because of medication for my back and depression. Is there any hope for me? I'm mid-60s and smoked at least 40 a day since age 12, all my relatives were chain smokers.

Nearly W3R1-Podgy bloke running around South Birmingham
Well after a gap of about 3 weeks I have pick up from where I had left off and I am now about to start the third week. As this is not only an attempt for myself to get fitter but I am also working toward a charity run that’s 8 weeks away. So far I haven’t found it too bad, and I haven’t even had

A bit of a rant - sorry!
Hi all, Been to see doc again this morning as I think I'm heading for a flare up again; not that it has still calmed down properly from last time! Peak flow is steady dropping, ventolin not as effective and sometimes symptoms are shifting a little after a double dose - 2 puffs and 2 again 10 mins later

6 days off not smoking and £60.00 better off in my purse
It's not been a easy week although the
champix
tablets have helped, due to them making me feel that sick. I remind myself when unwant a ciggy how long I haven't had one for, and say do I really need one now. Mainly it's my mind playing tricks on me.
