Morning! Has anyone changed there diet to be low or v low carb high fat?

Good results? Any results?

We need a serious change in this our house, so removing ‘pop’ bread, pasta, and certain veggies like peas (yay! I hate peas lol) potatoes etc...

thoughts would be good :)

Thanks in advance

I've mostly seen the ketogenic diet talked about in a thyroid group, and people there have quite good success with it (people with thyroid issues have a lot of difficulty losing weight). It's something I've only ever seen in relation to auto-immune disease, but if it's just for weight loss, I don't know how successful it is.

You might find Whole 30 a good place to start, and then you could transition to keto/paleo from there (whole 30 is a month legume/grain/dairy/soya free and it's big in the US).

I’m hypothyroid too, I’ll check out whole 30 and see what compares here in the uk

Whole 30 exists over here too, it's just it's more popular in the US, so a lot of recipe ideas come from over there.

You could try asking about the keto diet over in the thyroid section of the site - you'll get some more tailored feedback there, it's been getting a lot of discussion lately since "the magic pill" came out on Netflix
