Tips for calming down?
Thought it'd be good for everyone to share their best relaxation techniques :) Personally I find breathing exercises really helpful, and distracting myself by going to the gym!

Cravings - Friend or Foe... How do you see yours?
Looking at cravings... They really can be quite funny things, do we see them as the enemy and get all negative about them because of the way they make us feel? Or do we see them as our friend, and welcome them in when they come visiting? At the end of the day, they wouldn't be here if we didn't

Good morning everyone. It's a beautiful sunny day today - what a difference a day makes! AND we're not supposed to be getting any more rain for a few days so everyone can enjoy the outdoors at the weekend for a change. I've heard on the radio that they've started demolishing the most hated building

5 Tips for Better Posture
Do this
exercise
as often as you like. Better
breathing
for better posture, and better posture for better breathing. 4. Less Tension. Let go of any extra tension in your neck and jaw. (It might take a little practice, it might not.) Free your neck, slowly lower your nose.

First Night out Smoke Free
Thanks everyone for the support I got on here last night. I went to the party and stayed smoke free. I could smell the stale smoke on my friends, and fresh smoke billowed through the door as a group os smokers came in dripping from the rain. I did some breathing exercises and chased the craving by smelling

Good morning everyone. A nice, sunny warm one for the start of the week. Hope the cravings are getting better for you all, but don't forget Emjay's breathing exercises for when they hit you - remember, it's all in the mind and you WILL survive without that little white stick. Hope you all have

What happens when the cravings become too much? Here's a few things to try that can help you through these moments; 1. Stay Positive :-) It really is important to remain as positive as possible as this can affect your whole outlook on everything

Worst night sleep EVER!!!!!
I am so tired this morning I could cry, I haven't had a night like last night since I was jet lagged. I fell asleep last night at about half 9, and then woke up at about 11,20, and I have been unsuccessful in falling back to sleep! I've never been a good sleeper but I usually manage to sleep until about

Thanks for the advice
The amazing therapists have decided to try and improve my walking before worrying about my
breathing
so, hopefully, in six weeks I'll be able to walk,
exercise
and hopefully learn to breath a bit better. Many thanks for all the advice.

Breathing Exercise (2) How to cough up what's not supposed to be there...
When you first stop smoking, you may feel that you have more phlegm and mucus on your chest. This may cause you to feel a bit rattly and as though you need to 'cough something up'... Doesn't sound very nice, I know but this is a good sign. At the end of the day, you are only coughing

Is your Glass half Full....or Half Empty ?
And sing, I sing (not very well) but I find it a very good
breathing
exercise
, sing some Christmas carols, you can do it now without your family thinking you’ve gone mad, believe me it works. Here’s an idea, lets have a Choir!

Attention ladies, this one's for you!!!!
That’s when levels of the key hormone progesterone peak, inducing a much-higher-than-normal
breathing
rate during
exercise
. The excess ventilation tends to make running feel more difficult. 27. Just because you’re married and have young children and a job doesn’t mean you don’t have time to run.
