Light headed palpitations short of breath.
Not sure if I'm on the right forum but recently had all above symptoms ending in A&E. GP put me on bisoprolol 1.25 which has helped palps but I'm so light headed and s.o.b still. Varies every day some days-like today can't drive. Only been on them 2weeks. Got cardio phone consultation next Saturday as

The GP who told me I had AF (during a 2 week episode in January) prescribed Bisoprolol (1.25mg) on the spot. I haven't yet tried them despite having another AF episode (6 days early Feb), partly because I'm reluctant to become dependent on medication, but also because I don't want significantly lower

Alternatives To Bisoprolol Beta Blockers
Had problems a few weeks ago with palpitations/short of breath/light headedness-all random out of the blue. I'm 65 with no previous heart issues. My GP put me on Bisoprolol 1.25mg 10 days ago. The palps have died down but still adjusting to them also BP is lower although sometimes 110/70 in the evening-previously

Asking for a friend -
Good afternoon everyone. I wondered if anyone could recommend an EP in the Deeside/north Wales area. I am trying to help out a friend who is too shy to come on here and ask herself. Diagnosed AFIB and I believe a flutter. But been waiting 8 months to see a cardiologist, so she doesn't really know

Feeling more like my 'old self'
I was diagnosed with AFIB in October 2020 at the age of 79. Since then I have been on a learning curve about an ailment of which I had little prior knowledge. Health Unlocked with its daily mail bag of the trials and sufferings of fellow AFibbers has been a valuable source of information. During

Letter sent from GP 2 weeks ago to hospital. Just had phone call booking in for phone appointment in 2 weeks .... anyone had a similar experience?I'm in Leeds Yorkshire. I know NHS is in its knees but was hoping to get on a holter monitor. I guess unless you need critical care it's a long wait . Find

CHD Life Expectancy
Hi All. Something been bothering me for a few weeks. After 25 problem-free years, I had a review last June which identified reduced EF. I had a cardiac MRI in September and then phone review with my consultant in January. He had started me on Bisoprolol and in review said that there was improvement to

AF - what can be done when an episode starts?
I had my first episode last week after being diagnosed last Aug...no idea what triggered it...lasted about 4hrs and then went back to normal. I've no idea what to do when it happens, rang 111 and they told me to go to A&E for an ECG but by time I'd sat there for 4hrs my pulse returned to normal wen they

New symptoms and cardio referral
Recently I had palpitations light headed Ness short of breath . Long story short been referred to cardio in Leeds and now been taking bisoprolol 1.25 mg for a week. The palpitations have died down but I still feel light headed and sometimes short of breath. Obviously also anxious as never had heart problems

Learning all the time
Hi All, As a relative newbie I have found this site so helpful in learning about AF but I do think it would be great to have a glossary of abbreviations for new members. SVT, PIP, CHAD etc were all alien to me although I now know what they stand for from posts where members clarify the meanings. Im

Ongoing investigations
Morning all, I've posted on here before with regards to my journey over the last 2 years and the test results and investigations I've had. I was told I had mild left ventricular hypertrophy (lvh), bradycardia with a resting pulse of 33, mild mitral valve regurgitation (mvp) with pulmonary and tricuspid

Unsteady on feet and getting pressure headaches-do you think it is Bisoprolol?
HI, I had a stent fitted the beginning of December and was put on Ramipril, Bisoprolol, Isosorbide Mononitrate, Atorvastatin, Clopidogrel & Aspirin (and Lansoprazole for reflux). In the last 3 weeks or so I have started to feel unsteady on my feet. This tends to go away if I walk for a few minutes,

Seems to be going well at last !
I was just 'looking back'..........4 years since I noticed some paroxymal AF. 3 and a half years since it went persistent constantly (90-130 bpm) and I finally got it diagnosed. 3 years since a failed cardioversion. 2 years since an abandoned sedated PV cryo ablation, as I went into asystole (

Bisoprolol and loop implant monitor
Sorry perhaps someone can help. Iām having a loop implant monitor put in I have been told to stay on the Bisoprolol. Surely this will mask any rapid heart palpitations?

Update on seeing Electrophysiologist - and fed up.
Hi All, Iām a bit fed up. I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the fact Iād arranged a private appointment with an EP at my local hospital this week, as I was fed up with waiting for a follow up with my cardiologist which should have happened in January. Iām paroxysmal AF, formally diagnosed last September
