Starting Entresto with Low Blood-Pressure
Hi all - My Dad (88) has recently been diagnosed with Heart Failure (HF) with an Ejection Fraction of 15-20% (so reasonably severe). He also generally has low BP (c.95-105/50-55). He's coped with the first-diagnosed diuretics (Furosemide (now stopped), Spironolactone and Dapagflozin) , but is now struggling

been on bisoprolol & flec since April; Apple Watch told me new trend for my heart is lower
So it seems my HR is now down into the 50’s it’s about 52 in my sleep and through the day it can be 50’s/60’s/70’s and up to 99 when ever I do more physically. Sometimes it will randomly peek up to 190 or 210 for a few minutes. My range seems to be getting wider … HR lower and nice and settled and then

Irregular Beats.
For many years I have had phases of ectopics which come and go. Recently after a few weeks of 3/4 per minute they suddenly accelerated to 10/12 per min..not nice. I ve only ever had a 24hrs holter ecg, and as many will experience, by the time you get the holder the irregulars have vanished. GP has

Does anybody have any experience of Methyldopa for high blood pressure?
Hi, Briefly........why I'm asking: I've been on bp meds since HA in 2012. I had quite a drastic acute kidney injury last year when Losartan was increased, and that now rules out Angiotensin II receptor blockers, and Angiotensin receptor blockers. I've been on Amlodipine since last year, which has

Diabolical nails
SO fed up, my nails are in a terrible state, flaking and breaking. I’ve tried a nail varnish, nail oil nothing made any difference. I’ve even had biotin etc. I’m on Flecainide, Bisoprolol, Empagliflozin and Rivoxaban and convinced one or more are the culprits. any ideas and suggestions welcome as

When do you go to A&
I had an AF in the middle of the night, took Bisoprolol and attempted to go back to sleep, still in AF in the early hours, tried to relax and take my mind off of it and thankfully by 7. 30am suddenly back to normal. My question is how long can you safely leave it before taking yourself off to A&E?

Today was NOT the day
All gowned, obs done, cannula in place ready for my TOE and ablation BUT INR still only 1.7 and consultant decided that either procedure was ill advised as I have a prosthetic aortic valve and INR of 1.7 is a dangerous level. We had a good long discussion about ablation for my atrial flutter and ultimately

2.5 mg bisoprolol low heart beat
I have given 20 mg of lercanidipine for two years. It helped (daily ranges has been typically for rest 150/99 to 120/82) but now for the past month I have had anxiety and my blood pressure has gone up really high for me (170/110 to 135/88). My heartbeat rate had been typically 120 light movement to 80

Question about beta blockers - see edit
Hi all you knowledgeable people out there - I have a question. I've been prescribed Bisoprolol 1.25 mg as PiP but my problem is that my HR is usually pretty low, typical resting HR is low 50s and goes down to 43/44 when sleeping. Bisoprolol seems to take quite a while to 'kick in' and lower HR when I

My friend, bisoprolol
It can get a bad press on this forum at times, but I have to say that I think of bisoprolol as a helpful friend, there whenever I need him, as was the case this morning. I expect I'm not alone! Steve P.S. The "48" is one of those blips the Apple Watch is prone to.

Hello All Just a little update . As you know I had a couple of Afib incidents in the days following my RF ablation. TThe EP had taken me off Flecainide and Bisoprolol immediately after the ablation. Following which I had some AFib. The EP put me back on the meds ( hope you are following!

bisoprolol 1.25mg can cause serious problems in the elderly
my 91 year old grandmother who has atrial fibrillation, hypothyroidism and pernicious anaemia suffered a TIA mini stroke three years ago and was put on bisoprolol 1.25mg for heart rate control. The last three she has been in a zombie confused state, shortness of breath, headaches, dizziness and muscle

update on the ecg I posted 2 weeks ago!
so was at cardiologist today for my 3 month post ablation follow up for AF. He’s thinking there is a good chance the AF has gone. I showed him the ecg traces from my Apple Watch which some of you had suggested bigeminy PVCs and that’s exactly what they are. He has me on a 24 hour monitor just now to
