Sorry perhaps someone can help. I’m having a loop implant monitor put in I have been told to stay on the Bisoprolol. Surely this will mask any rapid heart palpitations?

I have the same situation; more importantly it will monitor that the bisopralol is being effective.
Yes but will it find the cause of my symptoms?
It will be put in for monitoring and diagnostic purposes, so if you are still experiencing arrythmias despite the bisopralol they will be picked up and shed some light. I guess the bisopralol will not be totally controlling your symptoms.
I’ve no experience of loop monitors but I stayed on Bisoprolol after my ablation for 10 months. I’ve just managed to come off it after several tries. It does reduce the heart rate but won’t necessarily stop all palpitations. It didn’t stop mine before I had the ablation. If you’ve been told to stay on it then you should, as only your consultant knows your case.
