Metoprolol, flecainide and prevention?
Age 59, lone paroxysmal AF for 12+ years which I have largely ignored because it wasn't that bad. It's been 4yrs since the last major episode but I suspect I am now in low-level AF a lot. I'm guessing at this because I don't have an AF app and due to the pandemic it's been nearly four years since my

Update on meds.
Hi, Finally, off the Bisoprolol (great to feel energetic again). Now taking Nebivolol (1,25 mg ) per day….This particular BB is stabilising my heart rate between low to mid 60’s Amlodipine (5mg) for BP which is stabilising around 122/73 At the moment, all is well. Fingers crossed 🤞 it continues…

Looking for advice on advanced diagnostics/treatment centers I could visit for a few days for adult inattentive type ADD.
TL;DR: I am struggling to find a treatment that works. Looking for a center or program I can leverage who might be able to apply some diagnostics (MRI/EKG/blood biomarkers etc) to find a treatment that is effective for my ADD-I. Also sorry for the wall of text. I am just so frustrated right now. I

Is it the Medication or am I Losing it?
Do you do daft things? This morning I picked up my toothbrush and instead of putting toothpaste on it picked up a tube of face wash cream and spread that on my toothbrush, as soon as the brush went in my mouth I knew what I'd done. Last week I took a carton of orange juice out of the fridge and poured

bisoprolol advice
I have AF and heart failure and my consultant has increased my dose to 5mg twice daily. I’m taking it after breakfast and after a meal around 7pm. Does anyone have advice on different ways of using this drug as I’m quite woozy on standing.

Tooth extraction and ectopics
Unfortunately had to get a tooth extraction today. One of my molars suffered from gum recession and was painful. covid
I have been taking a bunch of drugs for five years since my heart attack. Now I have tested positive for covid. My wife says she recalls the cardiologist once telling me that if I suffered covid then I should stop taking one of these drugs but does not recall which. I am hesitant to bother the cardiologist

Digoxin, upset stomach
My husband has been on digoxin for three weeks and has had to come off them for 7 days to see if that’s what has been causing lots of unwanted trips to the toilet for last two weeks . They have upped his bisoprolol from 7.25 to 10mg a day to see if they can eliminate the cause for 7days . I’m worried

Getting meds right after quadruple bypass
Hi everyone, I had quadruple bypass on 25th July, home 5 days after, no major issues other than a bit of a stubborn infection in lower chest wound that took 3 lots of antibiotics to clear up and heal. I had my meds tweaked after first consultation back at hospital , bisoprolol was reduced from 3.75mg

First Post
Hello, First post here, but, I do post elsewhere on HU in heart forums. After reading other posts, I suppose I have a question and curious as to if or when a kidney specialist would become involved in someone's treatment? I'll readily admit I'm a bit ignorant on kidney matters, the heart is probably

Advice Please
I was diagnosed with AFib in July after going to the GP with concerns about feeling breathless, tiring easily and swollen ankles. I had a TIA three years ago. I was taken off clopidogrel and amlodipine and prescribed Bisoprolol and Rivaroxaban. The dose of Bisoprolol was increased from 3.75mg to 10mg

Update on the AF journey…
Hi all, This isn’t so much a question but thought I’d post the ongoing journey…Be interested in what others think anyway. So AF started 22nd July ( or thereabouts). I started flecainide 50mg bd ( twice a day 😉) on 15th August and after 3 days on it on 18th I went back into sinus rhythm. Meantime

Side Effects/Different Brands
I have shortness of breath which may be angina and I’m having tests done on my heart. As I also have mild anxiety I take an antidepressant. I’ve noticed that after changing brands my shortness of breath got worse. I tried a brand I’d had before and my breathing improved. I know that different brands

Persistent AF and breathlessness. Is it likely to be the cause?
I have posted around this topic before, but am in need of help really. I am 56, morbidly obese, most of the weight on my bottom and legs. Arthritis has made walking difficult and so chronically unfit. I take bisoprolol (varying), flecainide 200 mg, omeprazole 20 mg daily. 4-8 wks ago HR 120-130 in Persistent

Bisoprolol and AF episode
Due to side effects GP reduced my Bisoprolol from 2.5mg to 1’25mg to be taken at night. I woke up at 4.30 am this morning with an AF episode. My heart rate was 54’ Do you think this is because of reduction, or taking BB at night? Very worrying’
