I had HA and stent fitted for my TVD a year ago . I was on 7 odd medication for years for years and was hoping to be reduced to 3 of them after a year , but was told yesterday that I have to stay on 6 of them for life which includes 2 for BP , aspirin, statin, bisoprolol and lanzoprolal . . I know aspirin and statins are for life and I don’t mind to take all 6 for sake reducing the risk in future. Still curious if Anyone one on similar medication and managed to come out of them .

Hi A, I myself would love to come off some of my meds, but when I tried it with the doctors go ahead of course, the results did make me realise that I am actually better off taking them because my bloods etc did come back different results unfortunately.!! Is there anything in particular you most definitely want to come off for any reason.?

Bisoprolol and lanzoprozole , bisoprolol slows heart rate and another is for protection of stomach lining. I was told by a personal who got stent at my similar age that it will be only aspirin and statins for life .Again as I have TVD , I assume doctors have more concerns and want me to stick to all 6 of them for life.

They know what they’re doing mate. I’m sure we wouldn’t be given them if we didn’t really need them?. Some folk will say otherwise especially the big pharma folk but iv tried coming off stuff and yes I may feel a little more energetic etc to start with etc but then my bloods results etc say another story unfortunately.! So I’m staying on what ever they say. it may get me another few years in life to spend the wife’s money.?👍

No surprise there at all. The only one of those I’m not on but was expecting long term is Lansoprazole which my surgeon discontinued at 9 weeks. I was expecting to stay on it to counter the effects aspirin can have on the stomach (ulcers) when taken long term.

yes, I am. GP has restarted the Lasoprazole.
