NHS Waiting Times
Hello I saw the Heart Failure Nurse January 31st she said you need a 24hr Holter so received appointment today for March 6th so just 5 weeks which I think is pretty reasonable. Just received another appointment to see H F Cardiologist on the 11th April so just 5 weeks after Holter. He is the ICD

Fainting
I played 18 holes of golf and came in with AF and pulse of 135bpm. This went on for several hours so I took 5mg of bisoprolol (I had originally been on 10mg per day but suffered lethargy and so my EP reduced it to 5mg per day). I take 5 mg first thing in the morning so this was an extra 5mg. In the evening

Hi All, Just looking for some advice as the GP is not much help. My father has had CKD for a good few fews ago stage 3A since we found out 15 years ago. However in June last year he went in for open heart valve surgery. He had complications after surgery and was put back on a ventilator for a week

What constitutes low heart rate?
Recently prescribed bisoprolol 1.25, consultant did say if HR drops to low I should stop taking it. HR is 34/35 when I'm asleep. Should I be concerned about this? HR seems to be okay during the day but difficult to establish because it fluctuates because I have been in constant AFib for two days now

Heartburn
Hi I am just wondering if anyone has any experience of heartburn on tablets for AF. I am on diltiazem 60mg and edexoban 60mg and Rampril. The edexoban I have been on for ages but was changed from Bisoprolol to Diltiazem and rampril from amlodipine in October. Thank You.

home from cardioversion
so I had my 2nd cardioversion today, first one lasted over 2 years……so hopefully this one will last a fair while too. Only took one zap and I was back in sinus rhythm. This time I’ve been told to continue my bisoprolol but last time I wasn’t on them at all. Hopefully this wil keep me in sync until I

AF with Bisoprolol
I have been switched from Disopyramide to Bisoprolol because Disopyramide was out of stock. I am now in AF and while Bisoprolol seems to be constraining my Heart Rate, I have been in AF nearly all day, and it’s not great. With Disopyramide twice a day, the next dose would resolve any AF, the Bisoprolol

Magnesium Glycinate & Selenium - ok to take with post HA meds?
Hi I take the supplements shown above, and was wondering if it was safe for me to do so following HA and angioplasty last September. I presently take the meds shown below, and I was wondering about any possible negative interaction. If anyone has any info to share I’d really appreciate hearing it. Many

Cough
I’ve had a persistent, dry and unproductive cough for a good while now. When the many bouts of coughing occur, they are uncontrollable and go on for at least a minute. They are exhausting. They are much worse at night so I am not sleeping well. My cardio nurse suggested that I contact my GP as perindopril

Confused, Don’t know what’s going on!
In my previous posts I mentioned that we booked a private appointment with cardiologist. After mum had a heart monitor for a week, the consultant confirmed that mum’s average heart rate was around 86, and the peak was around 160. The consultant has doubled the dose of bisoprolol so now mum is to take

How safe is taking Apixaban ?
Hello, I am 65 still working and reasonably fit , and have permanent Afib but so far very few symptoms. I take 2.5 mg of Bisoprolol a day. I have had Afib on and off for around 10 years As part of the great NHS system, I was told I needed to be on Apixaban However, the side effects horrify me Should

missed doses of bisoprolol
Hi I’m hoping for a bit of reassurance I think. Stupidly I missed the bisoprolol out of my tablet box so haven’t had any since last Friday. I only realised today and took the normal dose. My concern is that I felt really rough from Monday, I thought I had flu, achy all over, especially shoulders,

Bisoprolol & Apixaban
Early sixties. Coming up to two years when I had peridarditis which developed into permanent afib until I had cardio version four months later. Been mostly clear since then but occasional bursts of arrythmia, typically early beats. Think I was stressed out but have also given up alcohol and now exercising

Heart rate monitor results - another update
We had our second private consultation today for mum. Mum had the Zio XT monitor for a week. She has permanent AF and HF and the past couple of months have been so difficult as mum hasn’t felt good pretty much every day. The consultant said mum’s average heart rate is around 80 bpm, but the monitor
