Increased Arrythmia Events
Hello all – I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation in my 40’s (I’m 58 now) as well as a leaking heart valve and a bicuspid one also. I consider myself to be pretty active and healthy. My heart went into arrythmia around 4 weeks ago while on holiday in Greece and the episode lasted around 6 hours –

Had an ablation a couple of months ago. Cross fingers still in sinus rhythm. Two slightly odd things. First resting heart rate up by 15. Why if in sinus rhythm? Second still on bisoprolol 2.5 ( because told to continue previous meds). Logically though shouldn’t I stop. No one to ask really. The gp says

Bisoprolol withdrawal
I was placed on Bisoprolol three months ago after my HR shot up in Spain. They did tests and found no AF (and all ECGs since have been normal) but the Spanish doc put me on the drug anyway. I had a nightmare on the drug but I'm having even more of a nightmare getting off. I'm now 5 weeks without taking

breathlessness
had an MI 9 weeks ago at home with CPR and shocks as posted before. Have been diagnosed with pericarditis a few weeks back too. Last couple of days I’ve felt as though I have an asthmatic breathless feeling (which I got mildly before anyway, so know the sensation). No asthma medicines worked. Panicking

Reducing bisoprolol
After an ablation in early April I went into symptomatic AF after two days but have since had a successful cardioversion. I remain in NSR and on advice from the arrhythmia nurse have reduced my bisprolol from 5mg to 2.5 mg daily. I'm a week into the lower dose. My heart rate has increased, which doesn't

Bisacodyl has been prescribed for me
I’ve been on laxido for constipation for the last two years or so. At first it was ok with very little side effects. However, recently over the last few months I’ve been suffering from bloating, trapped wind and excess gas which are side effects of laxido. I met with my gastroenterologist today and

Change proposed to medication for epilepsy
I have asked for my Tegratol medication for epilepsy to be changed to something else as it interferes with use of simpler blood thinners. I am currently on Tegratol 200mg twice daily, 9mg warfarin and 10 mg Bisoprolol daily. It was also suggested I start on digoxin although my heart rate has not been

I don't know what to do!
Hi, I'm new and could really do with some advice. I went to the gp in April- had a bad back from decorating. I mentioned that I was still feeling tired (I saw gp last year feeling tired) and asked if it could be my thyroid (underactive) or perhaps perimenopause. I saw a cardiologist 7 years, and have

Bisoprolol withdrawal
I have come off a dose of 1.25mg bisoprolol as advised by my cardiologist. I came off a 2.5mg dose after ablation a year ago but was advised to go back on them after having another SVT event 2 weeks after ablation. After recent visit to cardiologist, he advised to wean down from 2.5mg to 1 month of 1.25mg
