home from cardioversion

so I had my 2nd cardioversion today, first one lasted over 2 years……so hopefully this one will last a fair while too. Only took one zap and I was back in sinus rhythm. This time I’ve been told to continue my bisoprolol but last time I wasn’t on them at all. Hopefully this wil keep me in sync until I have my ablation which is what I’m told is best way forward for me. How do others feel when they get home after cardioversion? I get the odd bump or eptopics……I guess this is normal??

Good luck fondant. I seem to remember my heart complained a few times - it’s easy to forget that it’s had quite a punch! I hope you stay in NSR for years to come.

great to hear your updates thanks for sharing. What is the difference between a cardioversion and then Ablation?

Cardioversion is like re-booting your computer. Ablation is a re-wire.

All quite normal. I clearly remember the relief at being back in a normal rhythm but also a few funnies which made me think I would flip back into AF. I didn't, at least not until some months/ years later.

I’ve had 3 Cv’s after first I had bumps and then 3 months ok then AF but no meds. The 2nd 10months and low dose metoprolol the 3rd my fault had huge curry and went 4 months. Going for review end of month to discuss future. Always get a few ectopics but taking magnesium seems to help. I’m hoping better outcomes from pulse field so stalling on ablation till better data out and will make decisions then. Hopefully in a year.

Hi,

I sent you a private chat message but you never answered. I was diagnosed persistent long standing lone AF at 37. I'm in NSR after 2 cardioversions and 1 ablation in one year. I'd like to hear your story, as young lone persistents are super rare :D please answer my message or here if you like 🙏
