What blood tests need to be done on a regular basis for PA?
What blood tests need to be done on a regular basis for PA? About 6 years ago, my local gastroenterologist office confirmed PA. They were writing the script for twice monthly injections for PA, and also had me on a stomach acid reducer. I stopped taking the stomach acid reducer on my own when I was diagnosed

CoQ10 and Blood Thinning Drugs.
That is interesting, just had a little search and found this from The Mayo Clinic ( if the link fails) Whilst it may be good for some heart conditions, other illnesses, and possible issues with statins, there is a note of caution: “Interactions Possible interactions include: Anticoagulants. CoQ10

am still not sure if my AF will cause damage. I have a very irregular hb but never higher than 60 on a very few occasions it went up to 110 but I didn’t notice only detected on my fit bit. I suppose I am lucky not to have episodes. My energy level is low and I get breathless if walking fast or climbing

My statins ipdate
There have been a lot of posts on statins lately. I have always been totally against their use as I have low cholesterol. After having a heart attack and stent fitted in February I decided to take all medications I was told to take. Atorvastatin 80 mg was given. This has now been proven to be causing

Association of statin use with risk of Gleason score‐specific prostate cancer: A hospital‐based cohort study
New study below [1]. "Among 13 065 men, 2976 were diagnosed with PCa over median follow‐up of 6.6 years. "Statin use was associated with lower risk of both Gleason low‐ (score <7: aHR {adjusted hazard ratios}, 0.85 ...) and high‐grade PCa (score ≥7: aHR, 0.54 ..). "The protective association was observed

Statins and PMR pain
I know statins can affect some people with muscle pain, my husband had to come off them because after a few months of taking them he could barely walk this corrected itself after a few weeks. I was diagnosed with Peripheral Arterial Disease in July and put on statins. I had been on 5mg of Prednisolone

What I cannot understand is why as it seems to have stabilised both the cholesterol level and plaque for millions both helping prevent cardiac events and

Left hand and arm pins and needles and goes to sleep ?
I used to get pins and needles in hands and arms but been SI B12 for over three years once every 2 weeks and went away and only used to happen after the 2 week period in week 3 when symptoms used to start to return. Now I get it quite often and wondering is it B12 related or is it to do with something

Will start improving diet tomorrow as three meats family roast tonight - kids and grandkids coming over! How do others find

PMG/Thyroid - Steroids
Two years ago I decided to have the shingles injection as having my twin grandchildren I didn't want to worry if they ever got chicken pox, etc. It wasn't until I was diagnosed with PMG did I investigate whether the shingles jab could have caused my PMG which developed a few months after the injection

Dear friends of Thyroid UK Can I please once again ask for advice. My last up date was about discharging myself from the endocrinologist, I was wasting his time & mine as he wouldn’t prescribe my T3 which I continue self source. He explained he couldn’t prescribe the T3 but could up my Levo to 125

Almonds, aspirin and statins - "Apolipoprotein B underlies the causal relationship of circulating blood lipids with coronary heart disease"
For those interested in such things, a couple of publications point to the protein known as ApoB as causative of/correlating with coronary heart disease: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/19004895v1 https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIRCRESAHA.119.315019.
