Update- Moderna Spikevax
Just to update. Received blood result and all within rang with the exception of Lymphocyte count which 3.1 only slightly over range. CPR 4 g/L, ESR 2. Which rules out PMR flare. So onwards and upwards, definitely downwards with Pred.-so pleased. I am now wondering whether the muscle paralysis I had

Atorvastatin
I was put on 80mg Atorvastatin following a heart attack/2 x stents in 2021. Since January this year have had very bad back pain, no apparent reason yet despite physio, x rays etc. Wondering if could be statins? anybody else had pain related to them?

Why would my FT4 change?
Hi, My thyroid has been ok for some years now, I have generally felt quite well. A recent GP blood test flagged up that my FT4 is at the bottom of the range. I am currently taking 120mg of NDT, I was on 240mg for many years but was told I must reduce my dosage as my TSH was 0.05. I reduced the dosage

High Cholesterol
Any advice please on my lipid results taken from a finger prick sample when attending an appointment at Our Future Health research programme. They were elevated . Total cholesterol 7.6 mmol/L HDL 1.22 mmol/AL Triglycerides 4.72 mmol/L They did not record LDL unfortunately. It was non-fasting.

Do I have heart failure or heart disease?
This is my first post. Back in 2019 I had what felt like "flutterings" and breathlessness/dizziness. I was diagnosed with arrhythmia. A 24 hour ecg showed ventricular ectopic beats. An echocardiogram showed mild valve leakages but no obvious cardiomyopathy. I was advised to stop/reduce my caffeine

Hypothyroidism
Hello, I haven’t felt like myself for over a year, started with acid reflux, swelling of hands, feet, eyes and cheeks then itchy skin, fatigue, slow movement, low mood. GP agreed to do blood test, nothing came up except high cholesterol. GP prescribed statins for high cholesterol, antihistamine for swelling

Here again for some knowledge and benefit from your wisdom. In February I was told that I have a number of heart conditions. One is two partially blocked arteries. I am waiting for an Angiogram and stents if needed, semi urgent. I go to Europe the end of this month so no chance of getting in until July

Have broken skull from 2018,double seizure, diagnosed 2021 as terminal, any exercise limited especially walking on a 'slant', very dizzy!
I need to exercise, I have diabetes 2, formed my own diet since 2020 when I got diabetes, but apart from exercise bike 2,000 metres a day, I seem to be on a losing struggle, threatened with Statins, if I go on those will become a "vegetable" [ps have legs like tree trunks at present😵] am presently

Was it a TIA?
Hi all, recently had a suspected TIA nearly 3 months ago. I got home one night and went to lock the door and I couldn’t get the key in the lock. I had no pain, no disorientation or confusion, no blurred vision, no pins and needles or numbness, no slurred speech, my left arm just felt a bit heavy. I immediately

Interaction of Statins with other medicine
Just looking for some guidance - is there any known interaction between statins and other medicine that one needs to be aware of? I am mostly interested in the usual stuff like antibiotics or vitamins, or stuff you usually get at the pharamacy for when you are under weather for minor conditions. Given

NICE guidance on statins
I recall seeing a reference to NICE guidance suggesting that statins should not be prescribed unless hypothyroidism has been eliminated. I’m struggling to find it and should be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. Many thanks

Low statin dose increased lipoprotein a significantly
I have elevated lipoprotein a [lp(a)] and elevated cholesterol levels, am 70 years old and have a coronary artery calcium [CAC] score of 0 (or did before I started statins a short while ago). I just learned about the lp(a) level around 18 months ago. I started a 5 mg dose of simvastatin 15 months

leg pains
I’ve taken Atorvastatin for over 6 years, just recently I have had really sore aching legs. I have put it down to exercise and walking but I’m starting to doubt this. Anyone else develop leg pains due to statins after years of no issues?

liver
I’m 73 and been feeling extra tired recently, otherwise fit and well. I thought the tiredness might be caused by Keppra a drug I take for epilepsy, I’m also on statins … but anyway the GP did a blood test, the Serum Alanine transaminase was ‘out of range’ at 54 u/l. I’ve always been a drinker but stick
