Ezetimibe and diet
I take ezetimibe 10mg with atorvastatin 40mg. I am suffering from bloating, gas and abdominal pain all of which are known side-effects of ezetimibe (and, sometimes, statins too). I know some of you hearties will be taking this same combination of cholesterol lowering meds. Do any of you know whether

I have just been diagnosed with calcification of the coronary artery. I have had breathing problems for 4 years and a CT scan of my lungs found a problem with my artery. I am 68, gave up smoking 35 years ago. I eat a meat free, dairy free diet high in fish and vegetables and fruit and pulses. I have

Just diagnosed moderate coronary heart disease and pericardial effusion. Total shock. Had echocardiogram after breathing problems and chest pains. Was told by letter and given atorvastatin and told I need a stress echocardiogram but 16 week wait. I’m stressed as I need to ask questions and I hate going

Managing to cope after having heart attack, with plenty of walking and changing my diet but having a lot of problem with muscle ache. I had never had any muscle pain before but straight after my heart attack I had frozen shoulder on my left, then tennis elbow on my right I now apparently due to pin sand

Joint Pains
Hi all. I had a HA last year and a stent sorted the problem but they found a historic total blockage which required more work and this was undertaken in June this year. Three more stents and recovery was a bit slow but I’m getting there! In the past few weeks I’ve been experiencing joint pains in my

Thoughts on cholesterol/statins
Just want to pick your brains, anyone who’s interested. My total cholesterol has increased in the last two years. These are the last three readings 5.2-5.5-6.0. I know 6 is borderline high; however, my HDL to total cholesterol ratio has always been good, present reading 2.83. My triglyceride levels are

Statins and Lupus
I'd like to pick your brains if I may? Since menopause and the onset of these connective tissue diseases, my cholesterol level has risen. I get the feeling of tight compression and a heavy ache in my chest with my flares so the docs are going to do some more heart investigations but want to give me

Statins
Hi. I am taking a statin for high cholesterol, around 200. It’s working, but I have terrible muscle/joint pain. Is anyone taking something other than a statin for high cholesterol? Are there many side effects? Appreciate any advice.

Can statins cause diarrhoea?
Following a heart attack in August 2021, I was prescribed Atorvastatin, Ramipril, Asprin, Clopidogrel, Bisoprolol and Lansoprazole. For almost 3 weeks now, I have been suffering from early morning diarrhoea, starting from about 6am. After about 3 bouts, it then stops and I have no more episodes for

Sensitive to medication
Since H/A sept 2020 had a myriad of problems with meds. I know I’m not alone. I can say that I felt better in Feb2021 than at any time since. I’ve had uncontrollable diarrhoea which nothing was done about until they discovered that not only was I allergic to Atorvastatin but Rosuvastatin was causing

microvascular angina and high cholesterol
Hi all So today I've been told I have to take statins as my cholesterol is high. Just another tablet to add to the heap. I have been compaining about complete exhaustion for a long time. It's getting worse rather than better. Is there any connection with this and high cholesterol? My diagnosis is Micro-vascular

YES I am still on Coconut Oil, aka CO
Since a few have asked, YES I am still on Coconut Oil, aka CO. 4T in large mug of coffee each morning. I am now 82, first PD symptoms in 2005, diagnosed in 2009, taking CO since 2011. I still stand by everything that I have written about the benefits of CO for my PD. It continues to work for me. My
