I had muscle pain with Simvastatin but a change to Atorvastatin cured this. Others have changed in the opposite direction. There are a number of different statins out there so have a chat with your GP.
If statins prove to be unsuitable there are other options to lower cholesterol.
Thanks for your response. Mine is so bad at the moment I am unable to get out of bed or get dressed without help. I think I may be allergic to statins and I have stopped taking them. My blood test shows I am fighting some sort of inflammatory infection. I have heard tell of a side effect called systemic inflammatory response syndrome which certainly seems to fit my symptoms. I did argue with the GP as to why I needed statins when my cholesterol is so low anyway but they insisted I needed them.Waiting on a telephone consultation now.
Did you stop taking the Statin for a period of time and notice they subsided?

Yes but only slightly. Now not taking them at all on advice of cardiologist.
Both hubby and I had problems with Atorvastatin, I switched to Simvastatin but hubby stopped all statins for six months as he had deranged liver function. Following liver scan he started back on very low dose of Atorvastatin after seeing cardiologist.
