I suffered a heart attack in July last year, otherwise healthy, non smoker and non drinker. Was told that it could be inherited cholesterol but no investigations. Paternal grandmother died of heart attack at 49, my dad had mini stroke at 53 then a heart attack at 68. A cardiac nurse suggested that

I'm going on a cruise and my other half wants to get the drinks package. But I suffer from microvascular angina and had a stent fitted 4 years ago. I'm on heart meds/statins. My question is should I be drinking for 14 days . I do drink but about once a week . To break even I would have to have at least

Advice on statins and vascular atheroma please
Story so far.... Had a recent hospitalisation in Cyprus for a problem unconnected to the thyroid (acute diverticular episode after 30 years of no major issues) which resulted in me having to have a CT scan when I returned from holiday. The scan was OK on the original issue, nothing sinister revealed

Shaking Body & Cold Clammy Hands
Hi all Fortunately my AF episodes are few & far between 🤞, therefore I just take Flecainide as PIP when it kicks off, which it did at 1am this morning. I got up to go to the loo & when I got back to bed I couldn’t stop shaking, I was so cold, then the AF started. My question is does anyone suffer

thanks you for all your replies, really useful hearing other people's experience. I can't get a Drs appt for three weeks, so think I will take the statin every other day until then. Missing sleep is affecting other areas of my overall health. My cholesterol is only 3.5, but I do have serious plaque and

Statins! Oh the pain
Hi I have been on statins since having my HA in late August in Turkey on holiday. I was put on Turkish drugs and apart from fatigue I was fine on these. I have since been on Atorvstatin 80mg but I have suffered really badly with aching legs and arms. I spoke to GP and they changed me to a lower dose

Statins and Af?
Hi, how many of us are taking statins along with the usual Af meds? I think I may have to start these soon and wondered about the effects as I'm nervous about starting yet another drug?

I reside in the UK and was diagnosed with Afib in early October and had a mild heart attack, in hospital for five days and given flecainide (50mg twice daily), apixaban (5mg twice daily), statins (40mg once daily) Losartan 5mg (once daily). I have always been intolerant to a lot of medication and vaccinations
