Could some one please help?
Hi. I have been having troubles with my periods since they first started at the age of 16. I went for checks and they couldn’t find the source but I was prescribed Mefenamic Acid. It helped for a while but my periods got that bad I began to have explosive diarrhoea and was vomiting because of the pain

More first aid - heart attack vs cardiac arrest
My post yesterday regarding first aid for cardiac arrest highlighted another common misunderstanding - the difference between heart attack and cardiac arrest. This BHF graphic makes it pretty clear, thought it might be worth sharing.

CPR/Defibrillator first aid for cardiac arrest
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2z5bjrvYl8 This BBC Three video popped up in my Twitter feed this morning (courtesy of BHF) and I thought some of you might be interested in it. It's a really good public information film, I think, showing what to do if you are present when someone has a cardiac arrest

rash with meds
I am taking Ursodiol for my PBC and now I have a rash on my face. It comes and goes, but never completely goes away. Anyone else have this problem? Any tips or hints. I don't eat red meat, nothing with white flour, no white potato's, just lots of salads, fruit, fish and seafood.

Update on progress
Well, thought I would just send out a quick update on how I have got on this week. I had two appointments, one with a physio and then my dexa scan. Both were very positive in as much as I came away feeling supported and encouraged to keep going. Physio is suggesting a referral to a rheumatologist so

Ursodeoxycholic Acid
Hi all, I had my TP 2 years ago. I feel pretty good but my LFTS have become raised & there are some signs of fibrosis returning. Apparently it might have a choleostatic basis & Ursodeoxycholic Acid has been mooted as a potential treatment, Does anybody have knowledge of this? Thanks

Alpha Lipoic Acid, Selenium and Milk Thistle - Reply.
This is really in answer to MrB_123 question. However, this question pop's up from time to time. Taking supplements, homeopathic or herbal remedies can end up doing more harm than good to not only

Please can you give me some advice about seeing my GP?
I'm quite nervous about seeing my ( quite new to me ) GP tomorrow for the first time since he diagnosed PMR 6 weeks ago. He started me on 15mgs then increased it to 25mg 6 days later and then another GP ( couldn't get to see mine) increased it again to 30mg 2 weeks after that. That was the only time

Alendronic Acid Can the 'medication = side effects= medication for side effects' spiral be avoided?
I was diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica around 6 weeks ago having suffered from the condition for around 2 excruciating months. Prescribed Prednisolone (gastric resistant) for the first month. Tangible side effect was buzzy/hyper sensation some of the time - and increased appetite. Second visit

Hello PBCers
Hello, I am new to this chat. I was diagnosed with PBC over 10 years ago. I have been taking Ursodiol since diagnosis. I have had an up and down road since finding out. First of all the itching is enough to make yourself go crazy!! My doctor has suggested certain lotions and has just recently given

Please help!
I have suffered from menstrual migraines since my early 20s. They used to start on about day 3. I believe that they started when I started to take the contraceptive pill. I stopped almost immediately, but the migraines didn’t. Luckily, after having children I had a break ffrom them for many years, but

Reposting of comments on depression and the gut. How to heal the gut naturally
The following has been copied from another thread and covers issues about the role of the gut in depression, and ACAC has such useful advice here about how to heal the gut that I have reposted it for people who missed that thread. My husband has had depression and anxiety for quite a few years prior
