Darn and other expletives - back in Afib after CV lasted just a week!
And what a lovely week it has been! All my energy back, no bubbly heart beats, feeling top of the world. I know most everyone here has been through this so please bear with me while I swear. Silently, I promise. I knew CV was just to ascertain the next step, but one always hopes you'll be one of the

ET-The mental aspect
M52, diagnosed with ET/JAK2+ (confirmed by a BMB) a few years back as my platelet count spiked over 600k. In fact I had a change from "normal" to over 450k at some point in 2013 and counts were between 430k-530k for a good 8 years, without any concern expressed by my GP. With the spike I was referred

Hi everybody, I have posted this on the AF forum as it sits there because I am on an anticoagulant for afib. However, because I suffer from PMR and I am on prednisolone I thought maybe others may have my recent problem. My blood results have come back with ESR at 17 which I am told is within the normal

Interesting article: Decreased risk of dementia in patients with AF taking oral anticoagulants
https://n.neurology.org/content/early/2022/12/29/WNL.0000000000206748 “Conclusions: In patients with incident NVAF, OACs were associated with a decreased risk of dementia, particularly in the elderly. This warrants consideration when weighing the risks and benefits of anticoagulation in this population

Supplements for arthritis and rivaoxaban
Hi all My husband has paroxysmal AF and a pacemaker takes digoxin and Rivaoxaban. He has slight arthritis in both knees(too much playing hockey in his younger days!) and not bad enough to take painkillers all the time. Bothers him the most after sitting for a while and then moving again. Before his

New Treatment For AF
I have not been on here for a while I just wanted to ask if there are any new treatments on the Horizon I have had AF for 15 years and apart from Ablation that doesn't always work and is definitely not a cure nothing much as changed It seems they can cure some of the other Arrhythmia but not AF Then

Neck pain
hi, for the last 5 weeks I have a pain on the right side of my neck ( feels like a stiff neck the kind you get from sleeping in a bad position) also going up to the right side of my head at the back and whistling in the ears. It’s 24/7 it’s driving me mad. I am on the blood thinner apixaban just wondering

Anti coagulants or blood thinners?
A friend has recently been diagnosed with AF and another friend told her one of her drugs was a blood thinner. We were on a zoom call and I chipped in saying it wasn't a blood thinner it was an anti coagulant. The friend said that her husband (with AF) was on blood thinners. I started to doubt myself

Joint Pain on Edoxaban?
I was first diagnosed with Paroxysmal AF in A&E in November last year. I was prescribed Edoxaban and there seemed to be no side effects. I have only suffered one short episode of AF since then at the end of December. Nothing since. About 3 weeks ago I started to feel that my legs were becoming stiff

Experimenting on myself, don't all try this at home
This is long but I wanted to share this in the hope this inspires someone, some may think I'm crazy but I just had to find out. I have HOCM, its quite mild and has been so for years. It's hereditary. Im in my 50's . Was sort of bullied by cardiologists to take Beta blockers and have been on a low dose

family friend emphysema requesting cbd oil south west
A family friend has phoned me. His mother has been diagnosed with Emphysema and he is trying to find a pharmacy in Cornwall or Devon that stocks CBD oil with THC in it to provide some relief for her. A US friend said this had helped his father who had COPD. He’s been phoning pharmacies and health

So many side effects with blood thinners
I posted earlier this week about constipation with epixaban. I had a long conversation with my GP yesterday and because of several side effects from edoxaban and epixaban, on the advice of my cardiologist she now wants me to try rivoxaban. I have been suffering with dizziness, nausea, and heart palpitations
