Interesting article: Decreased risk of dementia in patients with AF taking oral anticoagulants

“Conclusions: In patients with incident NVAF, OACs were associated with a decreased risk of dementia, particularly in the elderly. This warrants consideration when weighing the risks and benefits of anticoagulation in this population.”

I think we all knew that in the AF community. These studies appear with fanfares from time to time particularly in some well known newpapers. Thanks anyway. For people with AF it is another Plus to taking anticoagulants.

One of the main reasons I take DOACs.

I elected to take part in another trial to study this - I’m happy to be in the cohort taking the DOAC ….
