Anyone know anything about LAAO (Watchman)?
For people like me, with the bleeding disorder HHT, who cannot take
anticoagulants
, I have read about LAAO (left atrial appendage occlusion) being implanted at same time as an ablation. I wondered if anyone had experience of this device and their experience of it. THANK YOU

Can you help us?
We are looking for somebody who is based in East Midlands who has been screened with the Alivecor Kardia device and is now taking an anticoagulant as a result. If you feel you fit into this category, please do get in touch with Charlene Payne from the AF Association patient services team at c.payne@heartrhythmalliance.org

Thyroid queries
Hi everyone, I’ve posted before about my symptoms and have been investigated for autoimmune disease after having a positive lupus anticoagulant blood test. Nothing specifically has been diagnosed, but I am on hydroxychloroquine as my rheumatologist feels I do have autoimmune illness. An MRI on my neck

Beta blocker causing rash?
Hi All I'm new here. I'd like some advice/opinions on my medication. I have the most dreadful rash that's now covering most of my body. I think its cause by the beta-blocker I'm taking, currently carvedilol 25mg twice a day. I'm also taking edoxaban as my blood thinner. Has anyone else had anything

Do you think externally used herbal pain remedies are safe to use when on Warfarin? Think again!
Warning about using patches for painful joints I had a painful shoulder. My husband suggested using Tiger Balm patches to ease the pain. On my regular visit to check INR , which had been very stable for ages (2.5 target) to my horror INR had spiked to 4.5. I couldn't think what I had done, eaten, drunk

Prunes?
Hello all, I love prunes, but I just found out that prunes are an 'excellent source of Vitamin K', which helps blood clot. Since I'm on blood thinners, I'm wondering if I should avoid eating prunes...

I'm new: how long til I get seen by Cardiologist??
Dear all, another load of questions....so I was diagnosed Sunday (in A&E). Referral for echo cardio gram and cardiologist. My questions are: 1) how long does it typically take to get those 2 appointments? 2) And I assume echo cardiogram has o be before cardiologist so they know what they are looking

GOPO (rosehip)
Hi, been wondering whether to try rosehip for my spondylitis ( rare form of arthritis) but read this, so in case anybody else considering, thought I would add this found on my google search. So frustrating taking blood thinners when you need help with other health issues ( I take apixaban)

Blood thinners
I had one anuerysm repaired. 6 coils and a stent. in June this year, (I still have another). I'm still on aspirin and clopidogrel every day, I have now been diagnosed with breast cancer needing a lumpectomy! The op cant be done until I'm off the clopidogrel. Question is, how long have people been on

Blood thinners
Hello lovely ladies, hope you have all gone through Christmas in as good spirits as is possible. A quick question if I may - are all you currently on chemo also take blood thinners? I am kind if sick and tired of my constantly runny nose. All those little things really get to you after a while, don’t

Pulmonary embolism
I got diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism two weeks ago after my asthma had been bad, they initially thought it was a chest infection! Now on apixaban blood thinner, had a stomach bleed on Christmas Day, but ok now. How long does it take for a PE to resolve?

Micro Clots or not?
Micro clits or not ??? I hope you all had a lovely Christmas 🎄 and were as well as you can be. On the 23rd my blood suddenly dropped to 2.8 when it’s been stable at 4.2 for a few weeks. [my range is 4-4.5] but I’m a very unstable Lupus anticoagulant + APS patient with Lupus, Sjogrens, Fibromyalgia,

I won, kind of...
I posted about how my afib started - I had a severe GI allergic reaction to a food and the hospital staff mistakenly thought I was withdrawing from cocaine. They withheld my regular pain meds that I take for a cervical spine injury and let me writhe in pain for 3 days. My heart couldn't take it any

I started on 2.5 about a month ago but hasn’t stopped the AF so consultant has said to increase by half a tablet, try that for a week or so and then keep
