Recurring UTI’s
I didn’t have any symptoms and was feeling quite well so surprised when she rang on Thursday to say test showed an infection and I needed
antibiotics
and to get these from my GP, which I have done before.

Steroids
I was down to 3mg and doing ok but have got another chest infection (3rd one since starting Baracitinib in April) so back on
antibiotics
. I understand I need to up the steroids whilst up to 10mg whilst unwell but if that’s only for a week, can I then go back down to 3mg again?

ET and Eylea injections for macular degeneration
I have been treated for ET for almost three years very successfully with 500 mg. daily hydroxycarbamide, 20 mg daily Rivaroxaban and 75 mg aspirin on some days of the week. Recently I had an extremely bad reaction to the antibiotic Trimethoprim where after three days of the course I developed migraine

What is my PSADT?
My PSA on Jan 26 was 3.28 My urologist put me on antibiotic for 30 days and I retested yesterday at 3.66. I'm using the MSK PSADT calculator and doubling time varies depending on length of history I input. Most articles on PSADT say not to use real long histories, like 10 years for example, but rather

another infection!!
I hadn't had
antibiotics
for over 30 years prior to taking pred. In the past year I have had another fungal infection (had one last year), cellulitis requiring IV
antibiotics
, a slight skin tear that became infected and required antibiotic cream, and now this.

Abdominal distension
Consequently prescribed
antibiotics
, which I have not started as I really don't think it is either of those causes. I mentioned I'm worried about ascites, but she was certain there was no ascites present, based on a sub-standard examination!

I have also been on two 6 day course of
Antibiotics
over the last two weeks. My GP was not sure whether it was another Virus Infection, or a Bacterial one. 'Sputum' tests were negative, so at the moment, she had given me a 'Backup' higher dose if I need it at the weekends.

Doxycycline, small clinical trial
Because mitochondria evolved from bacteria, many classes of FDA-approved
antibiotics
, including doxycycline, actually target mitochondria.

My question is: is it ok to take
antibiotics
when on Pred (am pretty sure it must be) but do I need to increase my dosage of 11.5 mg or can I stay on that, while taking them?

Antibiotics and dentist
Morning. This old chestnut again I'm afraid. I spoke to my sister yesterday evening. She has had aortic valve replacement. She said her dental hygienist refused to carry out a clean without prophylactic antibiotic cover. NICE guidelines have changed. Her dentist was not so sure. Long

induced coma - how long can it take for a loved one to come around?
She has been given rounds of
antibiotics
. She is currently on a ventilator, dialysis due to complete kidney failure caused by the sepsis, so many wires everywhere and machines. We are all worried sick and its breaking my heart to see her like that.

Probiotics and Peak Flow Improvement
Probiotics can replace your gut microbes which may have been affected by
antibiotics
or alcohol. The results for me were immediate and my stomach and intestines are all calm and happy, I have so much more energy and going to the toilet is more routine.
