She says she felt no pain but that is not unusual as she is on a very high dose of
amitriptyline
to control the very high level of emotionality which in her case came as a freebe with psp (diagnosed 5.5 years ago). This drug is also a pain killer for nerve pain so she rarely seems to feel pain.

There followed a very brief interval on
amitriptyline
, terrible and clonizepan( excuse spelling) which was no better. I have since even referred to an eminent London neurologist, who has made a number of recommendations to my GP.

Feeling yucky!
My evening meds (sertraline, lyrica and
amitriptyline
) are fine. With or without the meds I'm lethargic, fatigued and a banging headache which feels like a migraine (bright lights etc). I've been on these meds for over 12months so why do they disagree with me now.

I live on Zomorph oral morph and
amitriptyline
and paracetamol too. Can anyone advise as I'm a wreck with worry. I cannot work as I can't stay awake in a good day let alone a bad day. My Dr put that with extremely strong medication doesn't combat the pain.

Update on first stage of treatments
Started
Amitriptyline
for my nerve pain problems on Friday , 10 mg at first and I've upped it to 20 mg last night. Can go up to 30 mg before I need to contact the GP again.

Amitriptyline and Trazodone
As I was getting better relief from
amitriptyline
she prescribed me 50mg
amitriptyline
as well as 50mg of trazodone. After only two days I feel better already. Has anyone else been taking these tablets and how was it for you?

Diagnosed today
Anyway, that's me, but my question is should I take this
Amitriptyline
? I don't want to feel like a half shut knife all day which is what it would appear to do to people. Any advice?? Thanks

Pain Clinic and other assorted short horror stories!
I'm presently taking
Amitriptyline
25mg X 2 at night. The only other pain killer I have is my Liquid Morphine and I take it as & when I need it. Paracetamol does nothing.

Trying Amityptyline for the first time
I was prescribed
Amitriptyline
today for the first time and after knowing the possible side effects, feeling quite nervous and scared how it may impair me the next morning. Has anyone had any great or not so great experiences with this drug? Thanks, Natasha

Is my brain just shutting off for a break or am I having seizures?
I take 10mg dose of
Amitriptyline
after diagnosing me with post-concussion syndrome along with co-codamol and diclofenac for pain. I get very dizzy on standing and the more tired I am the worse that is, I find too much noise and visual stimulation exhausts me most.

Still no diagnosis
I'm now off tramadol and on gabapentin as well as
amitriptyline
. Yet another round of blood tests to be done next week. Lupus has been suggested so many times the last couple of years but blood tests always negative.

Alternative thinking
Yes I do take prescribed meds (Mebeverine and
Amitriptyline
) and over the counter meds (Immodium and Silocogel) when required but appreciate they are not a panacea for ibs-d.
