Help
I'm on Gabapentin and
Amitriptyline
. About 6 or 7 years ago I had an accident at work and I was told by the hospital that it was a prolapsed disc, which flares up every 18 months to 2 years and I'm currently in one of these episodes.

Not sure if I should be here or not
So back to today, the doctor is going to refer my again to the Rheumatologist and given me some
Amitriptyline
Tablets. Have got an MRI in two weeks on my lower back, so hoping that will show up why i'm in so much pain with the back and hips.

Help for my husband
He is no longer on morphine as I believe it does nothing for nerve pain but he does take
amitriptyline
and gabapentin. He feels he is useless, can't get a job to support the family, is negative about so many things.

Continuing saga
He reckons I've now added Fibromyalgia to my list and wants me to start on a small dose of either
Amitriptyline
or Gabapentin. Very reluctant to start on another drug especially with my ALT now not being brill folowing the Methotrexate and NSADs episode.

is 3 loading injections enough
She then prescribed
amitriptyline
for the nose, this also had no effect. When I told her that the had been a change to the sensation of heat when eating she suggested B12 deficiency ( it runs in my family my aunt and great grandmother had it).

My First Post!
The nerve damage is now permanent, pain management clinic wanted me on all these meds, pregabalin,
amitriptyline
, etc I have refused all of these meds as I don't want all the side affects that go with them, it's bad enough having to put up with all the nerve damage!

Frankincense Oil
Btw, I've tried mostly everything else - occipital nerve block,
amitriptyline
, topiramate, anti-convulsants, aspirin etc etc. Feeling that nobody understands anymore how bad this is for me. I thought my family understood but I'm feeling that they don't understand anymore either.

I was thinking of asking my GP to prescribe
amitriptyline
for me again but I wanted to see if anybody had any success with it.

NEW YEAR!!!!!
Well the
amitriptyline
does stop the restless leg syndrome and after taking myself off of my meds I realised that it also reduces my joint pain, not much but a little. I used to have a great sense of humour but now I find myself constantly moaning about my health.

10mg am & 50mg at night. Also Quinine to help with cramps. I also have pain management and a team of guys at the hospital that offer Tai Chi, help with diet & weight, swimming etc. My doctor is brilliant. So yeah lots of help available & pain relief medication.

Amitriptyline & Sertraline
Hello. I'm a newbie to the site. I wonder if someone could put my mind at rest? I've been on 200mg of Sertraline for the past 14 years following a major work related breakdown.
