Ouch! Steroid injection in my shoulder
Of course the doctor initially said I had a trapped nerve & gave me
amitriptyline
to ease the pain... I took one & felt like a zombie. I lived with it for a while & then the doc sent me for a scan, saying it was tendon damage...

The reason I am interested is that I have been taking
Amitriptyline
for years ( this is an antidepressant but It also controls pain and I have migranes). Trying to find out if anyone else is taking this medication. Willl continue to research this and may ask my doctor to change my mediction.

Feeling lost: Depression sucks the life out of me.
I'm new here....I've battle with undiagnosed depression since I was 12 (now 20) Last September I finally saw a dr about it and she put me on lexapro and then switched to
Amitriptyline
50mg. This past week has been hell. The other day I almost took all my pills just to end things.

Small fibre sensory neuropathy
I really don't want to go down the route of Gabapentin, Lyrica or
Amitriptyline
- my OH went through all of these and suffered some really bad side effects. As he is disabled I am the one working full time, so just cannot afford to be zonked out.

Pain management
I use tramodol and the strong ibrufen during the day and and 25mg
amitriptyline
in the evening. I feel at times I don't want to continue with them and try to come of the Meds, however I then get withdrawal and the pain is still there.

Amitriptyline withdrawal
So I've spoken to my doctor and agreed to come off of
amitriptyline
. I've tapered off and have now been off the mess for about 5 days. I'm currently feeling pretty rough, nauseous and lethargic. Has anyone here tried to come off amitryptiline? If so how was it?

About my endometriosis
The only medication I am on is constant combined pill and 10mg of
amitriptyline
nightly. I have an involuntary bleed every two months or so and when I do I'm crippled in bed for around a week. Feeling dizzy, nauseous, and severe pain.

Finally being listened to... Now hormone injections?
Go back on
Amitriptyline
again but at a higher dose to treat the pain or go on hormone injections every 3 months (not sure which one) for the next 6 months to see if stopping my period has an effect on my pain to see if this is the cause of the pain.

Amitriptyline and Nerve Pain
Should
amitriptyline
work on this type of pain? If so is it potentially cover up what may be a bigger problem than it seems?

Prednisolone reduction causing depression
I have been taking 90mg Fluoxetine for 8 years and 40mg of
Amitriptyline
for the last 6 months. Every time I have reduced the Prednisolone below 9mg I have felt horrendous. Any one else had this problem with depression?

Pain Management
Amitriptyline
30mg daily and Enbrol weekly injections. I would be interested in hearing of effective management without sedation because this aspect of treatment seems to be hit or miss.
